Pokemon Binder Recommendations

I am organizing my binders and use old school binders like when we were kids. Please send me the best binders to prevent a chance of creasing as these are going into storage.

Thank you!

Take your pick.

This is what I use:

dexprotection.com/product/the-dex-binder-9/

Quick description from Dex:
-Holds 360 double or single sleeved, standard sized cards
-20 side loading acid and PVC free pages
-Additional fly leaf before the first and last pages for added protection
-Real velvet interior
-Triple reinforced elastic strap
-Padded Saffiano exterior

Those really are the pros of it, obviously they arenā€™t going to advertise any cons so why donā€™t I give mine:
-360 card capacity can really suck sometimes
-Iā€™m tempted to cut the strap off sometimes lol
-The cards can shift in the pockets with movement (not that much, but they arenā€™t going to 100% firm in those pockets)
-Cards in binder are not 4xxx certs

Overall I give the binder 9/10 for its incredible quality, though it loses half a point for having a strap (once again, I hate straps), and another half because of the minor shifting. Your cards wonā€™t fall out of the pockets or anything, I donā€™t mean to scare you, but keep in mind cards may slide around a little bit.

I only use fixed page binders/portfolios so those are the only ones I can comment on. Iā€™ve used the Ultra Pro binder (The one with the pokeball as its cover), Dex Protection binders, and Dragon Shield binders, all 9 pocket ones. I personally prefer the Dragon Shield binders paired with using Dragon Shield sleeves as Iā€™ve found that the sleeves are a very good fit for the binder pockets which makes sense as theyā€™re designed by the same company. The sleeves donā€™t move around much/at all as itā€™s a snug fit.

Dex protection is also excellent, but the pocketā€™s are a looser than the Dragon Shield combo in my experience. Itā€™s not major, if you have the binder pages filled back-to-back itā€™s not a problem but something to take note of. Ultra pro is similar to the Dex protection binder but the covers are less strong and the binder doesnā€™t feel quite as good to me.

Ultimately, theyā€™re all fine but if I had to use one itā€™d be the Dragon Shield followed by Dex Protection (1A/1B situation). Ultra pro is fine, gets the job done, but I do prefer the other ones.

Iā€™ve also heard good things about Legion Dragonhide and the Ultimate Guard zipfolio but Iā€™ve not personally used them so I canā€™t say. If you prefer a zipper on your binders then the zipfolio should be one of your top options.

Are you me? I literally suggested the same three binders haha.

Iā€™ll throw in monster binders as another option. They have a thinner cover/slightly smaller so a little less space taken. Otherwise youā€™re good with any of the binders that donā€™t cause ring dents.

Canā€™t speak more highly enough of Dragon Hide by Legion: www.legionsupplies.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=3

Little to no self-advertising on outside. Binder feels nice, holds cards incredibly well, extremely durable, band doesnā€™t seem to deteriorate and holds firmly. Outside is appealing and has a unique look. Costs about as much as a regular professional binder but looks fancier.

Iā€™ve tried Ultra pro and a few others and after trying out Dragon Hide, it would be difficult to try to get me to try anything else.

Edit: Pictures since words donā€™t do it justice:

Ultra Pro Platinum side load pages in your standard 3 ring binders. I can toss out pages that donā€™t age well or shouldnā€™t have gotten past QC, insert ones in without shifting an entire binder worth of cards if need be, and can vary up the size as needed.

Cards go into a single clear ultra pro deck sleeve (backwards, not upside down), then into their page.

Go with the quadrow zipfolio. There are lots of options and colors, but what do I like? It can store a TON of cards with 12 cards perpage, has a durable cover, is side loading and best of all it is a ZIPFOLIO for ultimate dust out protection. For high value cards, I recommend it for the zipper action.

Why has no one else mentioned a zipfolio? Am I the only one that does not like the elastic strap on all the other suggestions?

Just want to second this one. I use their Dragonhide stuff exclusively and its cool to have a ton of binders all in that embossed scale material. Just comes down to if you like the look, but they have a nice luxury feel to them.

Honestly just make sure its the black sideloading pages, then get the cover you want, the pages themselves are all the same. Main difference is going to be elastic band vs zip closure.

And make sure you sleeve the cards before you load them in the pages.

I have tested quite a few binders to formulate my own opinion. Iā€™ve used all mentioned so far and personally I like the DEX the most. I pair it with the ultra pro premium card sleeves and it fits perfectly into each slot leaving no wiggle room, yet not too tight for the card to get damaged. Itā€™s great quality that looks good too. My favorite is the 9 pocket limited edition black velvet interior.

Also, I want to note that I really like the Zipfolios; particularly the 9 pockets. Itā€™s a good alternative to the elastic bands.

Only Legion Dragon Hide binders for me. Love the look and great protection.

Do these fit and work well with most D-ring binders or is there a binder of preference for you?

Iā€™ve used some that I just had kicking around and then Iā€™ve also used the Ultra Pro Collectors 3 ring binders. One thing Iā€™ve wanted to look into were the Unikeep binders a member here posted about, but I still havenā€™t gotten around to ordering any yet. Having the flexibility to move them around binders and have binders of any size is a plus for me though. Currently they are mostly in the 3" Ultra Pros.

Thank you everyone for the help!

Buy a premium gaming binder - heaps of places online have them

I use Unikeep binders and I really like them. Donā€™t buy the 0.5 inch binders though because theyā€™re really flimsy. Ultra Pro pages fit in them, but the bottom pages at the top have ā€œbinder dentsā€ since thereā€™s notches. Hard to describe but Iā€™ll take a picture later. It doesnā€™t damage the cards it just doesnā€™t allow the pages to sit completely flat.

Just wanted to share these double sided, side entry binder pages, itā€™s what I use alongside dragon shield sleeves. Perfect fit, no sliding around.

Looking to upgrade to a zippered binder, but I just love how these look and feel. Very premium.
