I know you all have seen them.
Blank Card, Filler Card, Empty Card, call it how you wish, it’s always the same.
But how many variants are there?
Let’s find out!
These are the ones I’ve encountered so far:
El Blanco
Just a random Tremors reference. It’s full blank.
Bonus
This is printed blank on purpose. It’s from the Babanuki (old maid) playing cards.
If I don’t put some non-tcg here and there, then I’m not happy.
I dont remember who, but iirc someone one here has 26 different variants of these filler cards. In the facebook misprint group sometimes these get posted, there are still different variants to be found. Lots of cool nuances with these.
Iirc the person with all those different variants was @c0ll3ct0r
Thanks for the tags! If I opened E4 more, maybe I wouldn’t be 5 days late.
@quuador and @mannynotfound covered it well by linking to the last Imgur album I put together as well as hitting some examples I don’t have. Although I have a few more I can add
Here is another Album I have: https://imgur.com/a/8p6hV4b This is just my personal tracker of styles I’ve seen pictures of but don’t have in my collection. Some in here not yet mentioned are the Black border shapes, the WOTC 3 border, and the other holo variants.
1 more imgur link because why not: https://imgur.com/a/6NM37xe Here are Fillers that hit the sweet spot of being purchased after the previously shared link but have been cut from the personal tracker now that I have them. Some holo variations and border variations.
It’s really interesting as we really have no idea where things could end. Any variation could possibly apply to different eras or years but we never know until they show up. Here is a great example, In theory there are so many different versions of the “please discard”. Not only do you get all the different languages, but then there are still 2 of each with different back styles.
At some point I want to put together a thorough guide about Fillers but I find it hard with new info always showing up. In short, I know of roughly 35-40 variations for Filler cards. But countless other possibilities that we simply haven’t seen yet to know about.
PS: I’m only counting traditional Filler Cards in my ramblings. None of the other variations that can cause blank/greyscale cards.
