Which London are you referring to?
There are quite a few around the globe.
I’m going out on a limb here but I imagine he is referring to London in the UK. Or New London Minnesota in my neighborhood 
Was there last year, never looked around for any shops. I’m sure someone here knows of something though.

Assuming you mean UK, there’s a weekly Pokemon League. If you want more information I can pm you the details 
As for card shops, I haven’t really come across any places that specialise in just cards, but places like Waterstones, GAME and Forbidden Planet usually have a decent variety if you don’t mind paying a bit extra.
