A little preemptive, I know, but curious what others think the Pokemon Present will contain? Gen 9 tease? More Shovelware? DIaMoUND aND pEarL REEEEEEmAkES!!?!?
It’d be cool if they remastered some of the more obscure games like Pokémon Trading Card Game and Pokémon Pinball.
Otherwise I’m still holding out for a remake of the Gold and Silver games with the Let’s Go Eevee/Pikachu format. Where Pokémon’s base gameplay format doesn’t really change I think it’d be a bit too soon after Sword and Shield came out for them to be considering remaking any of the other games.
I think it’s a little early for Gen 9 and Gen 4 remakes seem likely. I’m sure we’ll see more on Pokemon Sleep and whatever the LoL esque game is called. For the sake of saying something different, maybe we’ll get something like Super Mario 3D All Stars that has one game from Gens 1-5.
There was a forum post that circulated a while back of a user claiming they had knowledge that the next mainline games would be called Sword & Shield. The post also named the follow up release as gen 4 remakes “Time Diamond” and “Space Pearl.”
Will be interesting to see.
Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. Chibi style remakes outsourced to a third party developer just to get something out this year. 2022 = The proper DPP remake: Pokemon Arceus Legends. Either re-iimaged Sinnoh in a Feudal era setting, or 15 years previous to the events of DPP(which makes it set in the 1980s real world time) but translations of the leaks are sketchy.
Watch this all be wrong, or right. Who knows.
Also Pokemon registered domain names for brilliantdiamond, shiningpearl, and legends in January.
I’d love a revist of old stadium games. Bring back the mini games, rehash the mechanics, update the generations and featured pokemon.
I want a Pokemon Stadium Bonanza that mirrors the love that was put into the first 2.
Just ordered a Switch Lite
we did it bois, stream crashed! I´m so excited, both legends: arceus and the gen4 remakes look phenomenal!
Legends: Arceus looks like the game fans have been wanting for years! Looks sooo good!
I never thought we would be getting remakes AND a brand new game. Shining Arceus looks like the Breath of the Wild/Pokemon fusion that people have been asking for. Looks like I’m taking a week off work when this drops.
I hope you all had switches before this was announced…
I’m most excited for Pokemon Snap and Legends Arceus after that presentation! I’ll play the DP remake, but I didn’t play it much at all when it originally came out so I’m not as excited as others are for it. I also don’t currently own any DP era cards and that may not change either
The built-in ability to share and vote on Snap photos online across the world has me very excited both as a fun in-game feature and a very easy way to launch a card contest!!!
the remake previews are amazing. I grew up with gen 4 so this is the best thing ever for me. I literally had a tear when I saw they upgraded but remained faithful to the scale of the original games, it was amazing to see.
I hope there will be an in-game event in the remakes to catch a usually mythical Pokemon, for example Darkrai or Shaymin (like Deoxys in ORAS or Keldeo inSwSh). Maybe we can even get Arceus in the legends game.
And New Snap is still the best-looking Pokemon game to date. Very dandy.
Probably one of the greatest Pokemon announcements of all time. If you can’t find something to be happy about in this announcement, just admit you only care about being a contrarian.
Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl are very exciting, it’s great to revisit Sinnoh from a new direction. I’m interested to see how the “faithful remake” plays out, I am hoping for some new additions and stories like ORAS had, but given that description I’m not sure if we’ll get it. Honestly I’m just excited to go back to the region for a new adventure. The games are clearly designed for casual fans and I’m fine with that.
Legends Arceus is what the hardcore fans have been asking for. Literally Breath of the Wild Pokemon. I love that they split Sinnoh into two games because now you’ve got the “regular” remakes for the chill fans and the Legends series for all the crazies like us. Truly the leap forward in Pokemon that many have been wanting for a long time.
I really hope Legends is the direction the mainline series is headed. Maintain the turn base core and surround it by an amazing world based adventure.
Sounds like the entire internet just exploded with the Legends Arceus reveal!
I personally can’t wait for that one, and it’s a breath of fresh air to see Pokémon taking a genuine step forward again, after dancing around in a semicircle for a few years.
The DP remakes themselves. Meh. I’m still scarred by the s l o w memories of trudging through snow, trying to battle in fog and getting stuck in the marshes. Pokémon has never been as unfun to play as that, so I have no excitement to relive any of it.
Wonder if there was a little more planned for the stream before it crashed?
