I’d love to hear from your guys past experience, cards that you should of bought in the past when the prices were cheaper. If you could give examples of the prices that would be fun to see! I’m sure we’ll get a lot of WOTC & Charizard stuff but let’s see what you got!
I’m pretty sure this thread has been made about 20 times this year

Said no to a PSA 9 1st ed shadowless chorizord for 3k, I was not heavily involved with pokemon at the time and only wanted a Nidoking cos cmon, it’s way cooler
Sold a PSA 9 1st Ed Chorizord for $700. Not a regret really, since it was a good price at the time, and I had an extra copy. I was pretty young, just out of college, and the extra money helped me secure more cards I needed. Still, not the best decision from a long-term investment standpoint.
Any mistakes I might have made led me to what I have now, so no regrets.
I cracked a few no rarity psa slabs for my binder, D’OH!
Bought some Pokemon Web cards for a little too much bc I thought they were more rare
Do you know in January this year 1st ed rev lugia were selling around 5k… don’t ask me what I sold mine at
Pokémon Regrets in general have been talked about a fair amount if you type “regret” into the search bar

Although not specifically a regret thread this one does have a lot of people posting what they might regret in the future xD

I regret every single card or sealed item I’ve sold since 1999.
The list would be too long.
Haha the list is far too long. I’ve sold things I will never get back at the price I bought them for or bought them back for 10x what I sold for, I’ve opened boxes I wish I’d kept sealed, I’ve traded things which at the time was a good deal but with hindsight was a mistake. Still, I am happy with my collection and try not to regret things. We learn from our mistakes and that is what makes us grow as collectors and people.

Honestly I wouldn’t have changed a thing. I’ve been collecting again a little over a year now. I choose each card because i love the art. If I ever get rid of anything it will be a very long time from now and there better be some serious offers to pry any cards from me lol. I bought a ton of ungraded cards even tho I could have easily had more value buying only 9s and 10s. I value a bigger collection over better grades.
To be honest with you if it was about money you could buy only Zards. Shit you don’t even have to be interesting. It can all be the same card, same grade whole nine yards. The only thing I’ve been slightly regretting lately is some of my modern cards. Simply because the Pokemon company wants to do one design, and print it a million different ways. Xmax, Rainbow Rare, Shiny. I usually skip regular Vmaxs, but now I’m buying the shiny as well as the Rainbow Rare of the same designed card just different colors… I’m almost shaking my head at myself as I just typed that out haha. Happy holidays everyone!
Regrets are natural with any collectable. I regret selling so many cards for what seem like pennies now. Sold two Master’s Scrolls, sold a 1st edition Gym PSA 10 Zard, multiple PSA 9 GS Zards and collectively got less than 10K for all of them. If I could go back to 2017/18 and drop kick myself I would.
Not buying 100 NM unlimited Charizords in January for 50 USD each and selling them three weeks ago for 1500 USD each.

What did you sell yours at
Selling my whole PSA 10 Neo Destiny Shining set plus PSA 10 Shining Magikarp and the manner in which it was sold

This is 100 % me. Sometimes I get the urge to sell stuff because I feel like I have spent too much on this hobby and I want to regain some of it. But I always end up regretting it. Prices suddenly soar and I know I probably will never own those cards again.
Yesterday I was shopping on a Japanese site for the first time, figured I would confirm my cart in the morning because I was tired, and a third of my cart was out of stock when I woke up. Lesson learned I suppose.
