pokemon sun and moon in Chinese?

does anyone know if there will be a pokemon sun and moon TCG released in Chinese and in China? if so anyone know how to go about getting booster boxes? i may or may not have read(not sure if i read it correctly) something about a release in early March…

I think there would be a greater chance than usual that this would happen. But I still think it is highly unlikely to happen. The reason I think there’d be a sliver of hope is that Sun and Moon games had Chinese languages included in the game for the first time.

Don’t hold your breath, though.

Haven’t heard anything of this happening mate. Cards have never been released in China - just HK and TW. I’ll ask around.

Milhouse is correct that the chances have increased with the new games having both a simplified and traditional release.

Thank you. Any information will be used well. Looking forward to hearing back…

I haven’t seen any evidence of Chinese PTCG SM products on Chinese sites. :slightly_frowning_face:

Asked local vendors. They all said they wouldn’t have stocked the Japanese cards if there was any chance of a Chinese version mate.

Ahh. Oh well… one could have only hoped. Thank you very much for asking around guangsta!
Is it just me or generally speaking do many others find a preference in the aesthetics and overall appearance of Chinese characters/writing over Japanese or Korean characters/writing on a card(as well as in other things such as porcelain, money, art etc…). I cannot read any of these languages but my preference leans towards Chinese for some reason(even tho they all look identical there is a clear difference in each style that makes me appreciate one language over the other)… do others feel as strongly as I do about this?
Make no mistake, I like the way Japanese writing looks as well but there is something I cannot distinctly identify which draws me towards Chinese… simply as a collector and enjoy the appearance.

Well you already know my answer…I have/had every Chinese card for a reason!

For me I have more of a connection to them as I live in china and studying the language (why does traditional have to be so damn complicated?! Can’t get my head round it).

I love the holo effect of the Chinese base set as they have the print of the English/other languages but the holo effect of the Japanese cards. The English holo version is just dull and flat in my opinion (not knocking them, English collectors, just my preference!).

Which set are you going for? Good luck on your endeavors!

Indeed. There are multiple reasonings as to why I love Chinese and their Pokémon card variations; love the culture and polite and educated nature of Chinese as a whole…
as for what sets I am trying to collect. I really fell in love with the base set artwork, I can literally stare at those cards and appreciate the card as a whole. I agree the holos are awesome.
I also have gotten some of the ex legend maker but have noted that the pull ratios seemed a bit low as I only got 5 base set holos and no ex or
And no gold stars were found in a full 24 pack box. I found that very interesting and almost more appealing due to the fact that those cards may be even more rare to collect than usual sets. I just started collecting pokemon cards and Chinese cards are the first niche that has drawn my interest, I also can foresee their value increasing if moreChinese collectors develope a knowledge and liking to pokemon cards in China(I could be wrong, you could tell me with better accuracy if this is true?)…

"love the culture and polite and educated nature of Chinese as a whole… " Have you visited China? Sounds to me like you’re describing Japan…but I won’t elaborate further…as perhaps I’ll just come across as another jaded expat lol.

Anyway, I wrote quite a lengthy guide to Chinese cards and posted it on this forum. Might be worth checking out.

Yep, I can definitely confirm the low pull rate of EX Legend…I opened 6 or so boxes and got one goldstar. Apparently the buyers who took my other boxes didn’t have much luck either, with nobody pulling one. I just sold my graded Goldstars and a few EX cards quite recently…and doubt those will surface on the market again. Who knows, maybe more will turn up, but it is such a niche.

Let me know if you have any more questions! Perhaps we can take this to PM or post in the guide to Chinese cards thread if you want to anything else.

I was being very lazy and not linking this for you:
