Hey everyone! I was wondering in the Pokemon tv series which of the theme songs was your favorite?
Also, who else remembers pokemon jukebox/karaokemon!? If you do what was your favorite song in that?
My favorite theme song is when johto just started. That is my all time favorite theme song (below is a little throwback for it)
As far as my favorite jukebox/karaokemon one it’s a tie between two, Two perfect girls and viridian city.
Johto, hands down.
First was great and iconic, but the Johto one always makes me choke up for some reason. Such happy memories with it 
“My Best Friends” is a beautiful, happy tune. The original “Pikachu’s Goodbye” (the one sung in the actual episode > CD version) is a real tear-jerker. But the most striking piece ever produced by the series is “Tears After the Cloud Weather”. Nothing compares to the raw emotion it elicits–especially given the context.
I could honestly go on all day about the music produced by the Pokemon anime. The Japanese pieces are incredibly memorable and capture every emotion perfectly, and the American songs manage to capture the themes of the series quite well and are extremely catchy to boot.
@mtajaj32. oh man, my best friends always gets me choked up too! Pokemon really did have such great emotional elements that always had me feeling great and a part of something wonderful. And thats exactly why i still love it today and always will.
@mtajaj32, my best friends makes me want to cry every time but like happy tears. That one is definitely another good one! I feel like there’s so many songs from the series that just get you right in the heart. Now I just want to listen to them all! I have to dabble in some of the Japanese pieces, I don’t think Ive really heard much of them.
By “Japanese pieces”, I just mean the original score to the show–all the background music that we still hear in the English dub.
@mtajaj32, Oooh haha I gotcha I thought maybe overseas they had different songs or something in the series there. But as far as all the background music I agree that it definitely captures every emotion to a t. As a kid, and even now as an adult watching it, I can feel all the music and songs that has come out of the series and even the movies too.

Perfectly encapsulates the strengths of both the American songs AND the Japanese pieces, as well as the sheer emotional power of this series overall. I have fond memories of this moment in the series, but hadn’t seen this clip in years. It was even better than I remembered. Tears in my eyes, man.
Definitely Johto as well. Always liked that one.

@quuador that XYZ one is awesome!!! Ive never heard that one before but I really enjoy that fast paced style a ton which really matches a lot of other anime intro styles. Really cool!

The Johto theme song you posted is by far my favourite too. It’s a shame all of my friends forgot about/didn’t watch it, as they only know the original (which is still great)! @danis04,
@joshan5, its the best one I think! it just makes you feel good overall! The original is definitely still great for sure, its a classic!
All great songs but for me, you cannot beat the classic:
Gotta go with the Johto Journeys. Love the tune and for some reason always stuck. I don’t think I even watched a lot of the Johto episodes until later on.
@nportell, Honestly that was the same for me, I didn’t start to watch more of the johto until later. Once I heard the johto songs I just fell in love with them haha! I thought these songs are so happy and make you feel a part of something in the world even though it’s for pokemon haha but I truly love them
For sure I think it was the height of the excitement but many of us were really into the cards around then. The show was somewhat missed out on for me.
