Poll Regarding Changes Announced by CGC

Main thread: CGC Changed Their Grading Scale & Label

I’m interested in how people view the changes announced by CGC at the granular level.

For each question, answer WHETHER YOU THINK THE CHANGE IMPROVES CGC AS A PRODUCT/SERVICE

Try to put aside any biases and answer as objectively as you can

1 = Bad decision, 5 = Great decision

They merged with CCG not CSG, right?

Oh my bad. It’s overall called the Certified Collectibles Group® (CCG®). Didn’t pay enough attention. Thanks!

A lot of 5’s from me, 1 on the damned half grades. 3 on the new Pristine 10 label, not entirely sure how I feel about that one yet. It looks very different from the GM 10, but that also kinda works. Interesting decision to retain the grade box on that one grade. Colors look great.

Edit: I used 3 as an indifferent to the change type of score

Six 3s and five 4s.

After some time, I think I like the new labels, but hate the pristine 10.

Still think gem mint 9.5s should stay 9.5s (now changed to mint +, pristine 10s should be the new gem mint 10s and perfect 10s should be the new pristine 10. Feels bad that perfect 10s are no longer visually represented on the label.

Since we are at ~100 voters, this is the result of the previous poll that I made in the other thread.

It would be interesting to see how the perception will shift in the next month.
It seems a pretty divisive move honestly in every case.

100+ votes for all polls :white_check_mark:

Here are the results, sorted by most supported change to least supported change.
I included a weird bar-chart kind of thing showing the breakdown. Hopefully it’s intuitive without explanation.

If there’s one thing I can say, it’s that people are extremely split on whether or not any particular change is good.

A 2.984 batting average. Not quite 50 50 but holy smokes it knocks the usual 15 percent out of the park. Im sensing a lot of new love for cgc here.
