Poll: You just inherited 5,000 Moonbreons PSA 10, how do you sell?

It can be any card that is popular, just that you have roughly 50% of the population.
How do you go about selling off the cards you just got for free?

  • Auction off 1 a week
  • Always have a copy Buy It Now at lowest listed
  • Take a small % (call it 30%-50% and unload them all to one person
  • Hold for long term

wheres the HODL because moonbreon is the future option?

One per week will take 96 years to sell.
One per month is 416 years.
Buy now would probably be more quick, but also the most work.
Selling all of them together for $1000 each makes you a quick 5 million dollars in one sale. Best option to me.

I am auctioning off one a week. After 2 years or so I am banking enough money to retire in my 30s. Then as the auctions prices continue to go down, I just live off of that. The price will probably get down to $200 after 5 years.

This assumes the current hot market only cools off a little and doesn’t crash

If I had zero interest in Pokemon cards I would probably unload the moonbreons quickly, and use the $$$ for my needs.

I think slowly auctioning them would lead to better results though, but I perfectly understand why a person who literally just inherited those cards, doesn’t want to bother.

7 million, or roughly what you would earn selling them at 30ish% market would put you into retirement while allowing you to still comfortably collect. If the quantity were 500 or 50 that would change things, but at 5,000, the value proposition is too good for the lump sum.

$7M and retirement sounds nice if you can’t outsource the work, but selling is kind of my hobby, so maybe it would also be fun to sell/ make trades over time

The market can absorb a lot of moonbreons. I would auction 100 per week (80 eBay, 20 Fanatics Collect) over 50 weeks (~1 year).

I’d probably make 7 ebay accounts and auction one per day on each. Or maybe even more.

Even at $500 each that’s 2.5M

At a certain point if you sell too slowly the opportunity cost becomes larger than the sale price youre optimizing for.

Edit: just saw the lump sum option which is no contest the best option. That’s like 6M on the low end for no work. More realistically with the bulk sum you should expect is probably closer to 5%-10%, like 1M. At that price there is still realistic margin for someone to sell them

I should have added that no one knows how many you have and what your plan is. I’d think after a few weeks of 100 each week getting pushed into circulation, people would catch on

Probably a mixture…
sell 1k to instantly get a million
auction 3k
bin 1k
would try to do this in 2-3 years

I would send 10 to 15 to every consignment service that is available. Every week first year. Id list about 50 as BIT. Put groups of 5x together and sell as lot.
I’d offer someone to cover my yearly expenses for 200 umbreons.

I’d go to a Collect-a-con and sell at least one to every vendor there. will make quick cash and it will be before people how diluted the market just got.

True, but you can buy a lot of cards to sell with that 7M!

There are 16,000 out there right now. I don’t think selling 100 per week would be a big deal.

I think psychologically people would become scared it would drop and it will be a self-fulfilling thing
