Potential Consistent Damage from PSA - Gemmintpokemon video

I was watching a recent video from @gemmintpokemon , I’m sure some of you have seen it by now but if not it’s his newest video ‘Conspiracy Theories’.

At the 5 minute mark he shows off some cards that have the exact same line on the left hand side.

This triggered my interest as only the other day me & a mate were checking out the scans from a PSA submission I got back recently when we noticed all of them had the same line in the exact same spot.

I figured it was so consistent that it was probably a scratch on the scanner, and not something on the cards.

After watching GemMints video however, I went and checked the slabs and low and behold, all 23 cards in my submission have this same line.

I’m not sure if it affects the grade, as I did have a few 10s in the submission that have the same line issue (it doesnt come up too well on the scan, but it just looks like a small scratch on the left hand side):

What do you guys think? Have you had a submission come back with this issue recently? Is it on the slab, or the card?

Ohh, looks like someone got just as wrecked as I did recently. Sorry gemmint. I was reacting the exact same when I got my recent sub back. By the end I was just angry. What he said was very fitting, “they weren’t even graded at this point”. Been there man.

As for the mark, so many of my slabs I’ve noticed have it. It bothers me. It’s not on the card. Sometimes it is on the other side, or both. It’s a weird case defect, like a scratch. His are super pronounced. Mine are more subtle.

here are examples in my most recent sub

I’m cracking 'em anyway so I could prove whether they are on cards or not. I did not see them on any I cracked so far.

Is it possible to point out what you’re referring to?

Also @thurco

Zoomed in. Center frame.

I’ve had several orders in the last year come back with some consistent damage across cards that was not there before (still came back with 10 on the label). It is extremely annoying.

There’s also minor stuff like getting debris in cases, or fingerprints/scuffs on cards reverse holos. No single thing is very common, but across all of them it’s frequent enough that it definitely starts to wear.

Anyway, gonna go fill out another sub. Hoping for some big returns on my investment.

I’ve checked some recent slabs of mine, and on at least two I’ve been able to spot these lines at the exact same location as yours. These specific defects are on the case I agree, but also really hard to spot. These are different to the ones from the video, they are thin very sharply defined lines. There are a lot worse case defects in my opinion, I wouldn’t be able to spot this unless I knew what I was looking for… I don’t believe your card is damaged either @thurco, seems like the same damage to slab that @brendantheclayboy mentioned.

Some of my recent slabs had extreme scratching on the front of the case right where the holo is :flushed:

PlastX vs the most scratched slab I've ever seen !

Thanks!! Will do eventually probably. Just scared the shit out of me when I first inspected the cards as I thought they were on the holo. Still considering cracking one and resubbing it

PlastX and PSA contract confirmed? :warning::eye: illuminati

Honestly, I’m not sure why Im bothering to think too hard about it. What am I gunna do, stop submitting?

i find these common on PSA slabs. It’s on the slab itself, not the actual card, so no worries here.
