Price check for 1st Edition Booster Packs

Is 3000 - 3500 a good price for a bundle of one of each 1st Edition Base Set Booster Pack art?

Also, double check me if the below are reasonable prices for each art:

  • Charizard - 1200 - 1500
  • Blastoise - 1100 - 1300
  • Venusaur - 1000 - 1200

Please and thank you for your expertise

Sounds reasonable.

i would say prices are a little high.
1000-1300 on zard (depending on pack condition)
seen venusaur and blastoise sell for as low as 750 recently.
a psa 9 blastoise went for 775 40 days ago.
along with other non graded packs that have gone for 800-1k on ebay. always use watchcount so you can see the actual best offers that were accepted on ebay listings that you canā€™t always see from just checking ended sold auctions.

prices will always fluctuate depending on pack condition/appeal. zard will always fetch a premium, but i would say the consistent price per pack is hovering around 1k atm. best of luck

Can someone point me to 1st ed base packs under 1k? Asking for a friend!

Wow the maker has weighed in!!

Someone did try to scam me on eBay offering a pack for 750 though. Itā€™s a bit of an odd feeling not wanting to go for something under 1k because it seems too good to be true haha so surreal.

That price is fair OP. Sure, some people will argue you can get them for $3000 if you snipe each auction and get lucky, but if theyā€™re in good condition Iā€™d personally go for it or try to negotiate somewhere in between($3300 or so).

These packs arenā€™t going to get any cheaper so itā€™s a no brainer. Thereā€™s no doubt in my mind they will be $2000+ not that long from now.

I donā€™t know why I sound so overly optimistic while itā€™s not product I even invest in.

Anyone selling 1st ed base packs under 1k donā€™t trust it. Simple as that. Your prices you mentioned are correct

Someone recently sold a bunch of blisters for 500.00 each UNWEIGHED and that figured to affect some peopleā€™s idea of value. I know I wouldnā€™t pay over a thousand for any pack but Charizard.

Every so often you will have those crazy deals that I like to call ā€œtime travelā€ deals lol basically you canā€™t count on them. Samething with the guy that sold all those blisters for $500. Sold them at 1/3rd the price he literally lost out on around 40k atleast lol just cause he didnā€™t know what he had

This is true. The problem is, perception. I have to ask myself, would I pay a 1000.00 for a Venusaur Pack? No way in hell. A much cheaper one will be along shortly.
Iā€™m sure Iā€™m not alone. Letā€™s try this, Iā€™ll sell a fresh Charizard pack that I got from ebirdman, for 1200.00 tonight. Iā€™ll bet thereā€™s no takers?

I literally had a Patreon who wanted to buy a Charizard pack for $1200!

The cheapest pack currently available is a Blastoise at $1,200 BIN. The last few sales are all above 1k.

The Blister example is not valid as the listing was the definition of risk. There was no guarantee or clear indicator they were 1st edition.

@garyis2000 If you want to prove a point you should sell me all your 1st ed packs for what you think they are worth. :stuck_out_tongue:

Lolā€¦
I was just making a point. Perception is everything. Even though a Charizard pack should be worth 1500 or more I figured nobody would spend 1200.00 today;)

That seller was probably the most confusing I have ever had the pleasure to deal with.

We agreed on a price for the case and he made the listing, but after multiple requests he refused to provide me photos of all 24 blisters. He kept adding in random photos of blastoise holos and binders. Had no choice but to pass.

Him ending up being legitimate was nothing short of a miracle in my book!

Absolutely! They sounded like they couldnā€™t be bothered to provide any information. Perhaps they didnā€™t know any better. Either way that was a once in a lifetime purchase!

I literally felt sick to my stomach after I found out he was legit and what a gold mine I missed out on lol. I did the math before and I believe the seller lost out on 50-60k haha! One person bought both those boxes for 20k total and it was worth about 60k. Everyone that got a pack from that guy literally took a trip in a time machine. Canā€™t remember the last time I saw a deal that insaneā€¦

But yes that sale canā€™t be used to prove any point on market prices just can be used to prove that time travel is possible
