The card has not sold in psa 9 or 10 in years according to my research. Pop 6 in psa 10 and it has a similar holo background to T17 so I have no idea what it would be worth. Anybody have any thoughts?
Im thinking it may be one of those gen 3 cards that may need a few years for gen 3 collectors to mature before it hits its rightful price but still its approaching stupid low pop and its a starter so what do you think it would go for today

There is a public offer on this forum for the Blaziken which has a 3 times higher pop for $700 dollars. @zorloth might have this card in his holy spreadsheet as well

a 10 sold at action on ebay last year. Think it went for 1200 ish but i could be misremembering

Blaziken doesn’t actually have 3x the pop – it only appears that way because PSA has mislabeled the Battle Stadium variant for years.
And yeah, there was one PSA 10 Sceptile that sold for somewhere around $1k via eBay auction earlier this year. I was offering $900 for the card before I graded my CGC 9.5 copy. The current value is probably somewhere around there, but it wouldn’t shock me if you could find someone willing to pay significantly more than that for one.

Also as for PSA 9, dont recall any sales but the cheapest on ebay is ~500 with roughly 22 watchers so seems like a decent amount of pressure at that price. I think one would auction for ~400

Honestly, I think that’s too high. Even during the bubble (late 2020 and early 2021) I was selling clean CGC 9s (yes, I know, no PSA premium) for under $200. I would not be surprised if a nice PSA 9 could hit $250-$300 though.
Yeah, but the late 2020 bubble didn’t really impact EX that much. I’m paying the same prices now (or higher for certain cards) as I was paying a year ago. But yeah, I do agree that $400 is more than one would sell for – my guess would be $300, but $400 wouldn’t totally shock me tbh
Your right there was one psa 10 last year at 1136$ which I hadnt seen. Its a super nice card but I guess we would see how it goes. I dont have a psa 10 I do have a 9.5 but I was just curious. Usually when I auction my 9.5s they get psa 9+ maybe 20% price. I dont think Ill auction this one though cause I dont have a replacement yet (well I do but its a raw dog)
I’m not sure how different BGS 9.5s and CGC 9.5s are in terms of price, but I’m offering as much as 500% more than PSA 9 prices for certain CGC 9.5s (and without much luck). If people are willing to pay comparable premiums for BGS 9.5s, your Sceptile could end up selling for a lotmore than PSA 9 price + 20%.
Its probably about the same to be fair until now I have mostly been downgrading wotc ereader 9.5s which seem to be getting more attention. I expect the nintendo holos to not be as easy to move. I know what I am getting into doing these BGS subs though, the goal really is for them to hit the 9 I want for my PC and then I dont have to try to find someone who will take a BGS 9.5 and also pay decent prices for them. Every 9.5 is just another year plus of work for me so I dont get that excited
$1200 sounds reasonable. My PSA 10 Delcatty Power Keepers holo went for $440 on PWCC pop 13. I reckon those are about the same level of Pokemon popularity and nice art vs some low pop holos that are less desirable species / art. I will probably send to PWCC my Deoxys theme deck holo PSA 10 pop 5 next year so maybe that will be a helpful comparison.
What holds these back is not too many people go for PSA 10 ex holo sets vs ex ultra rare sets. If you have only one serious bidder vs two competing it might be more like $700.
