I havenât observed print lines or small scratches on any of my PSA 10 holos before. If you observe both in your own card, I would think itâs very unlikely that your card will be graded a PSA 10.
A card could potentially have a print line and tiny scratches on the holofoil and still receive a grade of PSA 9 if everything else about the card was fantastic and the aforementioned flaws werenât too bad.
Thatâs the best I can give you if youâre not going to provide photos.
Are you saying that you notice that graded cards have these flaws or that many ungraded cards being sold have these flaws? Do you have an example of what youâre talking about?
You guys collecting the super rare factory print line âerrorsâ too? hehe jk. I have some virtually flawless cards with the print line that are 9âs. PSA seems pretty consistent on them from what Iâve heard. I think most 10âs are void of scratches though Iâve seen some have very minor ones. The 9âs you get into a bit more elbow room. I have a PSA 9 Nidoking that was double teamed by a Meowth and Scyther.
Print lines are the biggest reason why some psa 10 cards are worth more than others or harder to get. The neo genesis Lugia is notorious for print lines so it commands a high price and low pop. Same for the typhlosion in the set with silver holo pattern. #17 I think.
