Most-all social media references are word of mouth. There is no objective feedback like ebay. Even the references are not the same standard as eBay or Amazon, as the sites are not set up as marketplaces.
You should be fine majority of the time, especially if the person is also a member here.

Looks like OP from reddit showed up, but we use a reference page to keep track of seller/trader/buyer history. If they don’t have they usually have to send first or middleman it if you feel more comfortable that way. GL

@dalewilliamson is the OP - I was just asking a question about the reddit thing and don’t want to hijack the thread.
That being said I am interested in learning the current fair market price for a PSA 8 Shadowless Zard as I would like to pick one up in the next few weeks.
The sold listings are all over the place tbh. There are sales as low as $405 and as high as $900. I think the OP’s offer is very good. I almost considered selling mine, but I’ll hold it for a bit. I think you might be able to find one cheaper than $750, just keep checking ebay/social media and such.

Seller integrity and feedback pages aside a good rule of thumb is to avoid payments like venmo or paypal friends and family when paying someone you don’t know. As long as you have them formally invoice you and detail the specific item they are sending (ask them to add cert # in the notes if it’s a PSA card) then paypal buyer protection will have your back and if that fails a credit card chargeback could help you as well.
Nothing can help you if you send F&F and honestly if someone pushes for it hard that is a red flag especially if/when you offer to pay the minuscule 2.9% + $0.30 fee.

I should add that I have a PSA 8 shadowless charizard up on my eBay. I would definitely be open to selling to a member for fair market value but admittedly I would need to research on that some. I have it on eBay at $900 with my sale right now, so PM me if you are interested and I am sure we can make a fair deal in the $700-$800 range. As you may gather from a photo or two the case does seem to have some light scuffs/scratches here and there.
