PSA 9 1999-2000 4th Print Charizard

Hello again,

A few days ago I posted about your thoughts on the unlimited PSA 9 Base Charizard and its recent increase in price.

This got me wondering:

What do you think is a fair current price for a PSA 9 4th print Charizard?

And what do you believe the future holds for this card?

Curious to hear your thoughts!

I really like the card, really wish PSA would recognize the 1999-2000 print! I really don’t see them for sale too often.

My purchase of a PSA 9 wasn’t recent (Oct 2018) but even then I paid well over the base set price, at $435.

I sold mine about a year and a half ago for $1000 AUD, regular unlimited at the time was about $300 AUD, not sure if the ratios are still the same though

Same! Unfortunately I doubt PSA will do this, although I have a bit of hope.

It would be really cool if PSA recognized the cards.

Wow awesome, thanks for sharing!

I hope that isn’t just a standard reply

According to Gary it is ~

Excited to see there’s been a sale on the card again, which might give us a better idea of where its currently at:

It would be interesting to hear their reasoning behind not recognizing it.

There is no “reasoning”. It’s a mix of stubbornness and incompetence. The copyright year is one of the major detail fields going back to their paper grading form and the 1999-2000 is a clear and easy to spot variance from 1999 copyright. They also recognize the 1999-2000 packs already.

Honestly it would be easier to get a layperson to identify and distinguish between base unlimited and base 1999-2000 than base unlimited and shadowless IMO. I could teach someone a foolproof method (check location for copyright date), show them the two variants and they’d discriminate between the two 100% of the time. Shadowless however is a lot less clear and easier to confuse between the two and would need reminding.

I know. I said that with a deer-in-the-headlights manner of tone. As in they wouldn’t know what to do/say if asked. Evidenced by the generic response received by an earlier poster.

Utterly right :3
