PSA 9 1st Shining Charizard

A thread that’s NOT about massive growth? unheard of.

I feel like this card has stagnated in price lately.

If you’re looking to pick one up now would be a great time to do so and you’d probably be able to get a good price for it. You have room to negotiate if you’re extra keen.

The 10 just went for $2.5k so the 9 should be trailing around $1k-$1.2k in the next few months. PWCC will be having a 10 AND a 9 this month so that is going to be fun to watch

Isnt PSA 10 price not normally a lot higher than the PSA 9 price? Like 4/5 times the price instead of 2x. Or is that just Base set shenanigans?

I’ve been following the card like a hawk since I bought mine and sales have stayed around $800 for a while. SSA had 4 listed on ebay and other sellers were even going just under $800.

It may have just been that there was/is a decent amount of supply right now but a PWCC could definitely change that.

Depends on the card.

A suicune Ex PSA 10 sold in a PWCC auction for $600 USD while the 9s sell for less than $50.

Makes me think the PSA 10 version is undervalued.

9 is such a weird number. If you want the best, you go for a 10. If you want to save money you go for an 8 etc.

But when you can’t afford a 10, why not go for next best? Plus I think the 9 and “Mint” label just looks much cleaner and better than 8 “NM-Mint” :stuck_out_tongue:

What’s interesting with this particular card is that the pop is actually lower for 9s. I agree a 3x is mulitplier is a bit low but it might be due to the fact it’s not a tough card to grade a 10. And it’s charizard, so 9s are generally worth more than usual.

People keep saying that: “Once the tens are out of reach, nines will become the new ten and will go up in price.” Thats true for the most part but the gap between 9 and 10 will only increase in time. You buy 10 for investment, 8 for collecting and 9 for uhmmm… if there is no 10 on the market i guess.

Thats very interesting. I guess shining cards are more robust than holos. No holo scratches or silvering around the borders.
