PSA submission/ regrade question

Ok. Sorry, I feel like I have lit this section up with questions.

I recently bought a no rarity chansey, raw. It had been previously graded and the case was cracked/nicked. The owner cracked the case and just put it into a binder.

He sells me the card and actually included the psa 8 label(newer cert). I know they are going to grade it again obviously, but should I include that label so they can update the pop report? Maybe with a note stating that? Or will that rub the grader the wrong way, as me kindve saying(this was the grade before). That’s not my intention.

These are just low pop cards, and I feel it’s good to have an updated pop. But I don’t want it to come across snarky if that makes sense. In my opinion. It’s still an 8 or high 7. I had planned on a 7.

I don’t have any experience with this, but maybe instead of doing both at the same time you could instead send the label in some other time in the future, or at least not part of that order. That way the pop report still gets corrected and there can’t be any negative bias when grading your card (that’s supposing there even would be bias, which I’d like to think there wouldn’t be).

I had thought about this. But with the current backlog etc. I wonder if they would ever even take the time to update it. But if they are adjusting the pop while grading, maybe they would just do it then?

Good point though. I’m probably overthinking the bias.

You can send the label with the card. It’s what you’re supposed to do, but most people don’t bother with it.

@r2d287 Go ahead and give them a call and ask. But it would not rub the grader the wrong way. Graders only grade–they wouldn’t be handling the pop report, management would. But call because while you want the pop to eliminate the old, no longer existing grade while updating it for the new incoming one you have, they may request that you do it a certain way. But I would imagine just filling out in the comment section on your order that you are including a cert that was cracked and therefore no longer officially in population–and include the cert in a card saver on the bottom of the order in which you left the comment–would be the move.

This makes me feel better. I was really overthinking that someone would think I was trying to squeeze out the same grade.

It probably deserves an 8 anyway after looking at it again. It has one flaw. That’s it lol
