PWCC/Fanatics adds CGC graders on site, wants 24 hour turnaround

Found this pretty fascinating and hopefully it’s not crazy expensive. You can send your raw cards (even stuff you win on eBay, mercari etc) straight to your Fanatics vault and have it graded on site within 24 hours. I really really hope this expands to SGC and PSA in the future (if possible) because it’s really economical to be able to do this if it works as advertised.

I thought pwcc wanted to cut down on the amount of slabs they get? Didn’t we have a discussion about the stuff that wasn’t selling for more than min bid before?

I mean I’m all for it, pwcc non chase card slabs always go for steals imo so bring on the sea of plastic

They charge an extra fee if the value of the card is under $50 so that should hopefully dissuade the junk slabs

Oh right! Yeah I didn’t mean to imply it’ll be all junk. Actually sounds pretty cool to me. Not something I really would use as I like to sub my own stuff to cgc after inspection first, but I am sure people would use the crap out of this

I have three marvel cards using this service right now with SGC but the transparency is kinda weak. No pics of the card before it was sent and no updates until it’s back graded but otherwise it’s been really easy and each went through eBay authentication first so not too worried. If the turnaround was 1 day id be ecstatic.

I also got an email about PSA subs which they weren’t doing before. My conspiracy was that it had to do with the bad blood between ebay (now closely partnered with PSA) and PWCC.

All these new tools are really nice. It makes the market more accessible for non-americans. I tried out the PSAxEbay vault and it’s so streamlined

This is nice to reap the benefits of no tax and being able to send raw cards there without an MBA authentication.

We can just purchase a raw card from ebay; straight send it to PWCC to get it graded by PSA, is this correct?

Correct. PSA doesn’t have onsite grading like CGC does though so it will be regular turnaround time for the tier you choose and you don’t know what you get or where it is in the process until it’s back at pwcc and vaulted.

Dang guys :weary: can’t we all just have minty binders?
Too much plastic floating around

CGC has had all the best moves in these past few years when it comes to being inventive, proactive, marketing

It’s true, and then PSA steals the ideas every time lol

In my honest opinion it’s been Fanatics that has done all the right moves acquiring all the complementing companies.

This was in talks before the fanatics acquisition. The idea was from Brent, not cgc, psa or any grading company. Anyway glad its finally happening!

Anybody try the service thus far? I’m thinking about trying it. It seems strange mailing raw cards to PWCC/Fanatics but I’m sure its solid!

I did it for SGC and it took forever (45 days from received to graded and in vault) but I’m def gonna try cgc soon to see if it’s really 1 day tat

I might try this in the near future as well; I have an Art Academy Pika that I have been waiting to get graded but I have been holding out in hopes of PSA reversing their policy of not grading AA cards. If I end up doing this I’ll post the details here!

I sent some random stuff the other day just to see what happens.

Is this still the case? Their page for auction fees shows this, which seems to just be a flat $3 fee per listing regardless of what it ends at. It does say minimum $3, but I can’t find anything that mentions it being more than that or the $5 fee for cheap stuff like it used to be. I guess instead they’re “taking” money from you by not giving you a seller bonus?

I’ve done beckett a few times and it was around 45 business days.

As far as I’m aware that $3 for cheap slabs is if you choose to archive only in the vault. I think it’s waived if you send to auction direct
