Would I be so wrong to pronounce e-series as eh-series? To say mmmmCharizard Eh-cks instead of mega charizard ee ex? I think it could work if you were new to reading.
Not mine. Merely a question. I overheard a kid playing and they pronounced it as Pikachu ehx with a soft vowel sound and my need for being correct as a nerd was about to go into overdrive on this kid but i couldnt find a reason on why they would be incorrect so i bring it to the discussion. Is there anything out there that pronounces it as separate letter sounds for each mechanic, has anyone else considered or heard this?
I personally pronounce the abbreviations in the card names (in my head) as:
M = mega
ex/EX = ex
GX = jee ex
e-Series = e series (where ‘e’ is basically the default English pronunciation of the letter in the alphabet, similar to the pronunciation of ‘ie’ in Dutch)
I heard someone say “wahttsee” for the first time about a year ago and thought it was a joke, like some users say hahbee on here. No idea people pronounced it that way. Its always wizard of the coast for me or wizards for short.
