So I’m currently at home feeling the most relaxed I’ve ever felt and I was wondering, how are you awesome individuals coping or not coping with self isolation? Any new hobbies you’ve picked up? And unfinished projects you’ve decided to start working on? Have you guys reorganized your Pokémon or other collectibles around? How are your wives and kids doing? Have any hilarious or scary situations occurred recently? Drop your story below and let’s have some fun conversations yes? If you guys and girls have anything you’d like to share besides fear and anxiety let us know!
As for myself I have avoided any socializing and picked up on everything need to be done at home. I’ve always been a hardworking Mexican but I am not complaining when it comes to being able to stay home and work on myself! I’ve been enjoying the time with my wife and kids and picked up on a couple of projects I left on hold because of work and traffic haha.
Recently entered my garage where my 1991 Honda CRX rests and showed it some TLC. I sanded down, wire brushed rust and painted over the frame where it collects the most debris that way it doesn’t rust.
I did oil changes on both my two other cars which was a blissful feeling.
I organized my collection and took pictures of my opened items I display. All display cases got cleaned up.
Put my go kart back together. Aside from reinstalling the roll cage I also added new brake pad and a straight pipe header pipe! I’ll for sure piss off the neighborhood now hehe!
(REMINDER: keep the political crap and false information debates out of this thread. Report your feelings to the comment section on Instagram.)
I decided to go into isolation because of my mother. She had heart surgery and is at high risk if she gets any kind of virus.
I want to be able to visit her and walk with her so this was the only option to stay as far as I can from people.
I closed my store and started to clean up the house.
Did some bookkeeping and finally sorted many many pokemon cards.
Next week I have to focus on selling more online.
We have 2 - 4 adults (my kids and their partners) also working at home.
Very nice time during dinner/lunch when they are all around the table. Daily eating together didn’t happen much the last 5 years.
It was so nice, we were sorting out Pokémoncards and the boys took a look now and then.
We digged up stories related to some cards while sorting them. Good times.
It was like going through and old photo album. Memories.
I’m glad your mom has you there @rainbowgym. I can only imagine how nice it felt having that family dinner. I experienced a similar feeling during dinner time this past week. I was also impressed how my 7 year old daughter wanted us to reminisce and tell stories during dinner time instead of watching a movie like we usually do. I hope you keep on enjoying your time with your family!
You always hear people say “I wish I had more time to do X,” but then when they actually have time to do the things they always wished they had time to do (like right now), they sit on their asses and watch TV.
Good on you for making use of your time unlike most of the other lazy bums in this world. Well done.
As for me, not much has changed. I work from home anyway, and thankfully, work has been great for me lately. I still see my family. It sucks to not be able to go out with friends or anything like that, but it’s not like I go out all that much anyway. I’ve also been doing a lot of work with my cards in terms of sorting, selling, etc.
I play music for a living. I now have no work until maybe June. That said I’m really enjoying myself. One good thing for me in all this is remembering a simpler time again. The reason I became a musician is the enjoyment I found in the pursuit of learning music. Sometimes when you’re on the road practice time is tough to come by. I’m finding all this extra time I have at home to practice right now to be really fulfilling. Music feels more exciting for me than it has in awhile. I wish everyone the best dealing with all this! Glad you’re doing well @missingno,
Yooo before we went on quarantine I bought the new MPC One by Akai. I love this thing it’s a standalone unit so it does not need a computer. I should really update my YouTube channel now that I think about it
Here’s a link to one of the beats I’ve made with a similar MPC before this one, Enjoy!
@missingno, Nice CRX! Always love the older Hondas. Been spending more time cleaning up my Golf R personally.
I also made the mistake of getting out my old Lego to organize. They have been in pieces in giant bins so I decided to get out the instructions, put each set together, then take it apart and put them in separate ziploc bags. It’s taking forever.
