Question about Japanese Eeveelution Gold Stars

Why are the japanese gold star eeveelutions reprints of the world championships packs more population and more expensive than the play promos?

Because the WCP had an extremely limited distribution - iirc you could only buy packs online for a short period of time, and this is back in 2008 when the internet wasn’t everywhere like it is today. Additionally, the WCP gold stars had a very nice-looking full card holo pattern, and they were available is 1st edition which some collectors like.

I’m salty that I just have the crappy World Championship deck card of Jolteon Star. Even thought it was a rare card for a long time…

You have the english version?

Yeah, this one specifically.

I just bought a japanese psa 10 play promo without knowing the full length of what has been discussed here. I got it for a fair price, but i wouldn’t have bought it if i knew

The two differ, and I suppose if you like the super sparkly effect, then the WC Pack is for you. I absolutely love the Play promos, but I love the WCP too…However if I had to choose, it would be the play promos as they aren’t ‘over the top’ on the holo …lol.

Hopefully you can see some of the holo here…it’s very similar to that of the newer Battle Festa promos.

What is the price difference? What should a psa 10 vaporean play promo go for compared to a wc pack psa 10 vaporeon?

generally I’ve always seen the play promos to be more expensive than the wcp gold stars… I guess it just depends on how many are listed and how badly someone wants it haha. plus people love them some sealed play promos
