Question about PSA grading.

I’m getting ready to do my 1st PSA submission by myself without using a grading service. I have 100+ 1st edition commons and uncommons to grade to complete a few sets. I’m only interested in having these cards graded if they receive PSA 9 or 10’s. I’ve heard that you can put in a minimum grade you want to receive? If the card doesn’t reach the minimum grade, and PSA does not grade the card, what happens? Do I still get charged? For example if I send in 100 cards and only 50 cards grade PSA 9 or better, do I only get charged for the cards graded (50)?How does this work? Any advice will help me. Thanks guys.

You get charged regardless if you send 100 you will get charged for 100 cards even if you put a minimum grade because they’ve already done the work checking your card.

Yes, if you put a minimum grade, but it does not meet the threshold, PSA won’t grade your card but they will still charge you, from my experience of reading member’s of the forums :stuck_out_tongue:

Edit: It may be better to just grade the cards as even commons graded > not graded, especially if you were going to grade them anyways!

Still charged; it just stops them from slabbing a card you don’t want slabbed with a lower grade. Since they still have to grade it to know if it meets the minimum, you still pay.

Thanks everyone

Just grade them all with no minimum IMO. TO begin with I’d only recommend sending in commons and uncommons that you think have a reasonable chance at a 10. Any fails should become 9’s and a very rare 8. 9’s already lose money most of the time or make such a small amount considering the time and effort invested into them. 8’s are real bad news except maybe for some random base 1st but I’d still argue you’d be better off selling them NM+ raw.

I don’t plan on selling anything. These are for my personal collection to complete a few sets. Good advice though thy. I’m guessing mostly 9’s and 10’s but I’m pretty nervous with the quantity
