Does anyone know anything about PSA’s New Jersey location. I thought they were going to be grading mostly non card items. Like Funko pops, coins, tickets etc. but my recent tcg sub was shipped (finally) but when I check FedEx it says it was picked up by fed ex in New Jersey. And not to dox myself but I live in New Orleans, Louisiana and I sent my cards to the same place I always have the PO Box in SoCal for PSA. Think it’s just a FedEx thing or did my sub get moved around by PSA?

Same thing happened to me on my most recent sub.
Looks like they’ll be grading cards out of New Jersey as well. Pretty scary that our cards have to travel a second time before grading (You - > CA PSA → NJ PSA). Just another opportunity for them to get lost.

Previously the NJ location was only doing a few different things, but I remember hearing last year that they were going to expand into grading pretty soon once they got that new building. This was part of their scaling.

That’s really what I care about like at least let ya boy know if they are gonna ship them from SoCal to jersey on my behalf
However I must acknowledge the possibility of FedEx never giving it an initial scan upon pickup and it just got mishandled to NJ. But FedEx being as massive as it is only works 2 ways via airfare, typically out of LAX for SoCal - Memphis TN, why they really on one location for everything only god knows. But I kinda doubt that is the case I reckon PSA is behind this
I just saw my tracking and it says the same thing. It is shipping from New Jersey but I live in Southern California so this is a big issue with me. Also I might be crazy but the grader was very harsh on my cards. 8s and 7s for wotc holos that have just a small white dot on the back. They might not grade older cards a lot? I forgot to mention I used the value plus tier so maybe they send all the lower tiers to the New Jersey office.
We’ve known for a while that PSA is getting slammed currently. I’m guessing they shipped stuff there to help with the load.
I’m also getting a package back right now from the NJ location.

Nat Turner clarified most of the concerns here in an interview one month ago from Poke Knowledge Cards which is definitely worth the watch.
Nat said that it’s because of the antiquated software on the PSA website that doesn’t allow them to tell the customer where to ship the cards.
In the near future the online submission centre depending on what cards are in your PSA order, it will generate a shipping label and decide which address to ship to California or New Jersey.
The New Jersey office isn’t staffed enough to receive the card orders from shipping at the moment however, you can ask customer service to organise a drop off in person.
The New Jersey office is also focused more for TCG, Pokemon especially and that they transferred, hired and trained staff there for that reason.
