Quick T17 question: what did the last PSA-10 sell for?

I tried to search the forum, but I’m unable to find it. I know the estimate is roughly 10k USD these days with the T17 discussions if one would come up for sale, and considering the last T17 PSA-9 sold for 2.3k USD last month (if I look at PokémonPrice), that seems reasonable.

But, what did the last PSA-10 17 Typhlosion sell for, and when did it sell? I know the POP is very low (just 9 to be exact), so I assume the last sell price was years ago and pretty low as well in comparison to today’s market, but I’m just curious.

NOTE: I’m only looking for a simple answer to the question. Not really looking to start the entire discussion again, since we already have multiple threads for that: Typhlosion #17 PSA 10 and SalT17 Discussion.

And no, I’m definitely not in the market for one. I just saw someone recently posting 12 full Neo Genesis 1st edition NM sets (+ 14 additional sealed boxes), and I wanted to recommend him to grade some of the holos.

I believe the last public sale was the PSA 10 copy that TCA Gaming bought for $10k

14 sealed 1st ed boxes? Nice. I know a serious collector who offered 14k for the T17 to either one or two people who had one, and was rejected.

Ah, somehow missed that video even though I’m subscribed to him. Thanks!

yes, take into account that the psa 10 went straight into rusty’s personal collection and we may very well never see it again. I know where 8/9 of the T17s are. of those 8, only cardhaus’s is even “potentially” for sale. Ive had unsolicited offers and inquiries but I shoot them down onsight. If you put a 5 digit number with a 2 in front, its shot down from me. So that leaves people who really want one, with pretty much 2 options… pay up for cardhaus’ or grade one (and we all know how that goes).

I remember when that card sat on ebay for $7k and nobody bought it. He increased the cost to $10K and then TCA grabbed it.

Curious if you have a picture of that post? 14 boxes is a good haul!

Dare I say, that if the seller had started the auction at $1, it would’ve ended near the same price point? We will never know but id be willing to guess. SMPratte wasnt the only one to say that the card should be worth 10+. FOMO drives prices. Put it at BiN and people play chicken, and the regret not buying it. Plus that card was BASHED right away on here, im sure the people most likely to purchased were turned away simply because of that.

Aka “curious if you can get me that guy’s info STAT so I can buy” haha

Unfortunately he didn’t show any pictures of the boxes. But here the pictures of four of the 1st editions sets:

And in the comment he mentioned this:

And here the one of Neo Revelations he posted today:

Makes you wonder what else he has that he hasn’t shown yet. :face_with_spiral_eyes:

Haha, I was thinking the exact same thing when I read Scott’s post. But the owner posted them on reddit, so it’s public knowledge tbh. Shared his posts in my reply above.

Thanks Kevin! Thats pretty cool. Increased prices tend to flush out more copies.

The second he said “booster box” on reddit

It’s funny because if he were to display bars of gold like that, I wouldn’t be nearly as impressed.

what’s the point of trading for bulk? There are several sellers who trade high end items to a seller for bulk. What’s the math on this that makes sense?

Same reason many trade for booster boxes. Lets you get a higher value on the trade over just cash. X,000 bulk for a card is less math based than I’m paying 2.16 cents per card.

I missed it the first go round. I was browsing E4 and saw the card being bashed - which brought my attention to the relist later on with starting bid at 7k & BIN 10k. I snapped it up. It was a bit painful paying that kind of high price and very risky, but Ive been too picky or too rigid on price before, and paid for it many times. I knew it was going away for a while.

And you made a very wise decision doing so!
