I am gonna be real disappointed in my fellow E4 members if Gyarados and Tyranitar doesn’t get at least 8+ on the final ranking. Banger artworks on both.

I know this may be considered heresy here, but I do not like the Japanese holo pattern on any cards except Shining Mew. It just feels sloppy and I wish it didn’t just lazily cover everything.

i find the og shinings to be kinda underwhelming overall. it just seems weird to obscure the colouring of the pokemon with that thick texturing when that’s the whole point of shining pokemon in the first place. you can hardly even discern the shininess through the english texturing. The Gyarados, Karp, and Mew look much better imo. the JP cards look a lot better in general, with that kabutops being very noticeable (one of the best pokemon)

Charizards gonna get shafted. Theres stronger shinings but charizard is the only one that feels like you just caught a glimpse of an elusive shiny before it flies away besides magikarp I suppose.

I agree with you! I didn’t know the Japanese holo pattern was the same for all of them. I think that type of holo only really fits the Mew.

I wonder if my rankings will this time be at least close to the community rankings. In my opionion, Shining Magikarp and Tyranitar are the best of them, closely followed by Gyarados and Mew. And of course, every Japanese one is way better than their English counterpart.
