Real or Fake? Arita Signature

Hi everyone,

Just looking for opinions, or if anyone knows whoever the original owner of this card was that got it signed & then sold on Z&G Emporium. I’m not sure why this BGS card doesn’t have authentication (they usually do with signatures). Do you guys think this signature/sketch is real or fake?

I bought this card for my brother, and originally I didn’t even see/realize it was signed and sketched. Then when I noticed the signature, I asked Z&G about this and he actually realized the listing title was wrong (it said the signature was on the slab, but it is on the card) so he let me know that. I tried asking Z&G if he could ask the consigner for any info on the card (for authenticity sake), but I understand he’s too busy to do that. I just bought the card anyway, hoping it is a real signature.

There’s also writing to the left of slowpoke, I think it says slowpoke’s name in japanese, when I looked up the translation, the japanese characters look similar to slowpokes name. I’m not sure if artia usually writes a pokemon’s name next to them?
The date at the bottom is also kind of odd, I cant even tell what the bottom number says… it looks like the full date says “22. 1. 2x” I’m not sure what the third number is.

I just wanted to post this here to gather everyone’s opinions. Real or Fake? I tried messaging Arita (he usually responds to messages) but he just replied saying he is not an appraiser. I figured he would be the best judge to tell me if it’s genuine or not, but he seemed to not want to comment.

Thank you if anyone could give insight/help. (Right click>"open image in new tab ") to view it up close.

I believe the inscription is actually “サトシへ” which is “To: Satoshi.” Satoshi is a common Japanese name and could very well be someone’s given name, but Ash Ketchum is known as Satoshi as well and I would put my money on that being the intention :+1:t3: As for the authenticity, no one can say for certain but Arita did in fact sign on that date and everything checks out to me! (Take this with a grain of salt.)

Oh thank you for the information. I cant even tell what date it says… please enlighten me

This is most like January 20 something, 2021. Japanese almost always put the year first. I’m not sure which exact date in January though

January 24th, 2021 is what it looks like to me. There are a handful of other PSA graded Arita autos from that date up for auction right now, possibly from the same original signing attendee

Thank you for the info

Arita has made a signature event in Koln (Germany) during January 21st 2024, I was there so this is 100% true. The signature seems authentic to me, I have confronted with others in my possession. About dedication I agree on what it is already said  Great card and sketch by the way!
