Hey guys, I received a BGS Black Label 10 card, but it looks like it has some obvious scratches and white spots on the inside. The scratches appear to be on the inner sleeve. I want to recase it to remove the blemishes. Will recase cause the score to change?
This was Becketts response 3 years ago from a post on Reddit. I will say I did a friend a favor and got a few of his slabs from BGS recased because they were both cracked, and it kept the same grade. However I haven’t run into the inner sleeve having damage. Your best bet may be to reach out to them directly. Good luck!

I’d be careful reholdering at BGS. I know of two instances where a card was sent in for reholder, they regraded it and the grade dropped.
Also, if you haven’t already, hit it with some PlastX. Might be able to get the scratches out that way.
Thank you for your answer. What worries me most is that these scratches are not on the surface, but seem to come from the inner sleeve surface.
