So I am looking to send out my first PSA submission for a reholder and want to try make the experience as painless as possible. The card I am submitting is valued high. While I would rather not risk sending it through mail the damage/defect on the case is enough to deter potential future buyers that might think the damage is on the card. My main questions are what method of shipment do you guys suggest and how should I package an already graded card? PSA identies how to package ungraded cards but I could not find how I should package one if it’s already graded. You guys help is greatly appreciated.
The way I’ve done it is in a bubble mailer. Inside, I put the case between two slabs of cardboard. That is good protection for pretty much everything.
You could always then put that in a small cardboard box if you felt more comfortable. Main thing is to make sure that you put insurance on it since it’s valued high.
I use USPS for 99% of everything. Don’t know if you’re in the states or not.
I just sent a card for reholdering at the start of the week. I put it between cardboard, into a resealable polypropylene bag, wrapped it in bubble wrap, and then put it into a bubble mailer. The polypropylene bag is not really needed imo but I have no use for them so just used one. Sent it via UPS expedited 3-day.
@fizzyadrenaline, It’s $10 per card up to $5,000 value. Turn around estimate is 88 business days (just checked) plus their 7+ week backlog adjustment so don’t hold your breath.
I think I will be going this route as well by expediting the card maybe as an overnight through FedEx. I’ve done USPS for a while but after they lost one of my high valued cards this past year I’ve steered away from them.
@fizzyadrenaline, I think there is a faster service but its $50 USD per card reholdered. Not sure of the expected/actual turn around times for that level of service though.
Ah thank you. Nah I’m good with waiting lol. I have a hairline crack right across the entire front of the case so just want to get it recased. No rush
Thanks
