Report of Observations Regarding the Pokemon Playtests/Prototype Cards

Other thread with primary discussion: Many of the Pokemon playtest cards were likely printed in 2024 [major update for alpha & beta playtest]

I realize that there is a lot of information to untangle and it’s hard to sift through the above thread for all the details, so I put together a report of everything I found.

I figured it was a good time to put it together because I reached a satisfactory conclusion to my investigation.

I tried to keep it as brief as possible. It looks like a lot (30+ pages) but it’s mostly images, I promise. Hopefully it’s helpful!

Please let me know if you see any errors (even small). If they are significant, I will update with a new version of the document.

I was waiting for this post. I will volunteer myself for peer review later this week.

Now, this is what we call fine detective work. Very nicely done. Thank you for all your research and effort. Of course with the help of many people in this amazing forum

This is insane!

I honestly find the documentation and process way more interesting than fact that the prototypes are fake. Gonna have fun going through the pdf.

I’ve followed e4 for a while, but never bothered to create an account. You’ve given me a reason - thank you. This analysis is admirable and enthralling. Many of these cards may be fiction, but you are now a legend and a pretty cool part of the Pokemon story.
