"Rotated" French card

Hi!
The other day I came across this card, and have been trying to figure out what it is.
As I said, the card is in French and “rotated”. I have never seen the set symbol before, and is a collection of 8 cards. (The illustration is from the Base Set I think)
It doesn’t seem a counterfeit to me, so I ask if you know what it is.

I have come across French cards here in Canada but haven’t seen anything sideways like that. lol

Those are real. They were released with the “trading figure game”. They are commonly known as “trading figure cards”.

The set is “Next Quest”. As Scott said they are made for the trading figure game. Fun game and that is what the Pokemon Duel app was made after. They are similar to the early battling coins as well in some ways. The cards play similarly to the “plates” in Duel.

Fun game and after enjoying the Duel App I went back and picked up a couple sets of the figures for real cheap.

There are eight from Next Quest and eight from Groundbreakers.

Hmm, some of those artworks are perhaps something collectors are interested in. Personally I’ve only seen the Full Heal and PlusPower you have, though. And apparently the Groundbreakers set was never actually released.

I thought Groundbreakers got canceled in the TFG so I didn’t think the 8 Trainer cards were made. However, have you seen some of them in person to confirm they exist? Just trying to figure stuff out since I’m one of those collectors you speak of :blush:

@mjisaacs Nope, never seen them before. As I mentioned, I’ve only seen the Full Heal and PlusPower before. I see them for the first time now that I’ve visited that Bulbapedia page I linked. So no idea if they actually exist irl.

Groundbreakers exists IRL. I have six of the eight and a convincing story that suggests only six of the eight were made. I’ll write an article some day.
