Is there a sale history somewhere of a PSA 10 Team Rocket 1st edition Holo Set?I was checking Ebay and could find one for PSA 9’s, but a complete set for PSA 10 doesn’t seem to have sold recently.
And would you think that having a complete set together would command a premium?I don’t have a clue either how many people would actually be looking to have that set complete.
I would go onto the pokemon price tab and just calculate what all the 10’s are worth and add it up. You would have to find a certain buyer for a whole PSA 10 set which would probably take a while, especially if you want to get a premium.
Here are complete set analytics.
Thanks for the suggestions, but I know that I can obtain a price by adding up all individual cards. However that assumes that all cards are readily available at the suggested prices and that’s simply not always true, therefore I’m most interested in the premium part.
I understand that if you have a patient buyer that he then will buy them as singles, but I do see sets fetching a premium from time to time and I suppose it’s exactly because not all buyers want to buy them piece by piece but rather buy them all at once.
PokemonPrice.com says it’s roughly $3000. Any premium on this is going to be negotiated between buyer and seller. There is not really a standard “premium” you should expect. If the value is around $3k, I would expect a full set to sell between 2k and 4k depending on how eager the seller wants to sell and how lazy/rich the buyer is.
I think it depends on the set, something like 1st edition base would get a premium because it’s pretty hard to put together. For 1st edition rocket holos I wouldn’t expect much of a premium, at the moment it’s not too difficult to put together, every card in the set bar magneton has sold within the past month and is usually available on eBay.
You can likely pop on eBay and pick up every holo bar 2-3 (the energy, dragonite and magneton) within a week or two, it’s not a whole lot of effort. I put my set together maybe 6-8 months ago and it took roughly 2 months of casually checking eBay (I was looking specifically for sellers that had multiples so I’d save on shipping, I could probably have been done much quicker otherwise).
As others have said pokemonprice.com lists the holo set at about $3k at this point in time, even if some cards are not currently available at that price, or at all, the deviation isn’t going to be very much in the end due to how regularly the majority of the holos sell, maybe +/- $300. If you want to try and collect a premium for the set I’d list it up at $4500 with best offer on and see what you get, I would probably accept $3500 and over - that would be basically the collective all time high for 2018.
The site adds it up for you now on the set page & the analytics page
I posted this in the wrong thread. Here is an example of the Complete set charts on pokemonprice, this one is PSA 10 1st Edition Rocket Holos:
