Sealed EX Crystal Guardians Booster Box

Hi All,

I’m looking to increase my sealed collection with some early EX era product.
Crystal Guardians was my favourite set, and I’ve seen a box pop up at £3000.

After scouring the internet for a while, I can’t find too much sales data to see if this price is justified or not.

Does anyone have an idea as to what it’s worth/if this is good value (especially in the current bubble).

They’ve sold for 2000-2500 for the past year with at least two sales this year within that range, the last being April

Ex Crystal guardians has less value compared to other late gen 3 sets like ex dragon frontiers, unseen forces and delta species. The ex cards in the set are some of the less popular ones, as theyre not the big names, other than the gen 3 starter evolutions which tend to be neglected for their ex team magma and aqua counterparts. Matter of fact, the delta zard from the set outperforms pretty much all the ex cards in price. So the majority of set value comes from that zard as well as the Alakazam and Celebi gold stars. And among the gold stars theyre in the cheaper half.

This set is either a sleeper or just doesnt carry enough heat to pique interest. I feel like the consensus on the set is the artwork leaves a bit to be desired. Which is sad, bc the set has a really cool concept. As with all gen 3 sealed you won’t lose any money, but if you’re looking at gains on your investment id pick a different set.

And if its your favorite set, who cares? Get yourself a box

Personally some of the cards from this set were some of my favourite cards of all time. This set + base set definitely hold the most nostalgic value, as I was plowing through packs of this set when it was originally released just to get that blastoise.

To be honest, I might just purchase some graded copies of my favourite cards rather than the box itself, as I see the investment opportunity as better with WOTC and I don’t have unlimited funds.
Also when I think about it, I won’t truly be able to appreciate the artwork if the cards are in a sealed box.

Sounds good man, definitely some awesome delta cards in there. I feel like they dropped the ball on the holos and the ex’s but theres tons of awesome reverse rares to be had
