I’ve been tinkering around with the idea of splitting with my Sealed green wing base set box to finish off my PSA 1st Edition Base set, and pay some unexpected expenses that recently arose.
The only issue I’m having with this is I KNOW I’ll want the box again in the future. My concern with that is potentially paying 25%+ more a year from now. At the rate these boxes have been inflating, I feel like that’s a realistic number over the course of a year.
I can handle this expense in cash, and pull a little from my savings, but that would put my collection on hold for a while until I’ve fully recooped my savings where I wouldn’t feel guilty. The idea of slowing down this momentum and not adding to the collection for a while stings…
Thoughts? Do you see the green wing box staying flat for a while, or continue to rise to the point to where it’s worth holding onto?
I would personally keep it unless you get an amazing deal that is to good to pass. In that case, it might be worth it to sell the box.
You also have the option to downgrade to a blue wing box or do you already have one? That would give you about $1000 towards base 1st product you’re after.
I would hold onto it if u can. U will regret it especially if u want to end up buying another one in the future. If it’s a mint box, more of a reason to hold onto it. Graded cards will always be around
If you know you’ll want it again, keep it. If you sell now, you’ll lose money to fees and the price will increase during the time you wait to buy it again.
I think I’ll definitely hold onto it. I absolutely love the box, and would definitely repurchase one in the future- so I guess it does make sense to hold onto it. It’s a mint beauty.
Gary- no sir it isn’t. It’s a plain jane, all codes, bottom of the barrel, wizards logo green wing box.
