Sending Cards to PWCC from UK - US Import Fees

Hi everyone

I’m based in the UK and considering sending graded Pokemon cards to PWCC for auction, but want to know if there would be any import fees to pay for receiving the cards in the USA.

I asked PWCC and they said that any import fees would be passed from PWCC to my PWCC account. I’ve seen and had a number of discussions about this - with some people saying that there are no import fees.

So the views are conflicting - perhaps because items may have been declared for less.

I haven’t decided how many cards I’d like to send, but let’s say around USD 10k to USD 30k worth and that I’ll send them by FedEx and also fully insured. Googling has led me to import calculators, but these need HS Codes which I know nothing about!

I’d appreciate any definitive advice / help to get to the bottom of this.

I’ve sent cards from Europe (Not UK so it might be different) but I used the following HS code:

4911.99.0000 : Trading Cards

There are no fees associated with that HS code (Playing cards has a different one, and has 10% fee at least from European countries)

I did not insure for the full value but rather declared somewhat below the actual value (around 15.000 USD) but have not gotten any fees from PWCC
