Short answer - There is no known way to guarantee that a theme deck is shadowless (unless it has a gold strip around the top).

However, you can tell if a 2 player starter set is shadowless by following this guide.

thanks. The guide helped a lot!. was able to verify that both 2 players i have are shadowless

I believe only the theme decks with the golden strip are shadowless.

Correct, I am not at all sure what decks for the original base set are shadowless or not, but for the big 4 decks, the gold strip is the only definable factor.

Uhm…no. Not true. I just don’t want a newbie to happen apon this conversation and think that’s true. A giant majority of shadowless themes did not have the gold strip.

Haha very unvalid statement, only the theme decks with the gold strip are 100% shadowless. There have been what 4 or 5 trial runs where people have built this giant list of quantifiable factors and then someone opens one of those decks and boom shadowless. Everything but the gold strip to my knowledge has been debunked.
