It appears market kinda on Standstill right now. Maybe because of winter season ? Summer time is diffrent animal / market.
Where do we see shadowless holos Psa 9-10 being in the next 3-7 years ?
Or even the next 15-20 years ??
Will the new generation understand and appreciate the shadowless set ??
As long as they keep making sets simply add 15-20 years to the last set made to figure your growth period.
There will always be demand for the Base Set.
As for Shadowless, the values are so all over the place that it’s hard to quantify growth for the whole set. I think it’s a good time to scoop up these $100 PSA 9 cards when you find them.
It’s a different beast than 1st Edition where pricing is more stable and in the right order. It still baffles me how Shadowless Venusaur is one of the least desirable card in both PSA 9 and 10.
I think that combined they will always be worth around 50% of whatever 1st edition goes for. When supply starts to dry up, we will have a more accurate idea on actual values. Right now, I value Shadowless 9s at $5k which is very low IMO and 10s at $40k.
these $100 psa 9 shadowless holos are insane to me. I honestly passed on a ninetales recently because I’ve already spent so much on so many 9s.
To me, I would grab a psa 9 shadowless holo for $100 all day. So why didn’t I? Because there have been soooo many cheap cards the last couple months.
I think that’s why we have seen lower prices than usual. Sellers lowering prices to get rid of inventory to generate fast capital, then buyers taking advantage of deals, coupons, low prices, etc. to the point that buyers are moving quicker than usual through their expendable income (like myself), so that now when low priced cards pop up, they move way slower than they really should (whatever that means).
I grabbed a psa 9 shadowless Venusaur earlier this year for $170! I did slightly over pay compared to current prices for my blastoise though because i was worried it would shoot up.
I missed out on all the deals. I only noticed as I was browsing sold listings the other day. As you said it’s happening across the board as well, but it’s not like there’s an unlimited supply. It’s bound to dry up rather quickly.
Some shadowless holo 9s been going for real cheap a little under 100 too (ninetales, couple zapdos, etc) Ive been scooping these up religiously, have up to 4-5 copies of some too. Severely undervalued and one of the best buys at this point in time.
Venusaur is definately underappreciated, PSA 10 should still easily earn you 1300+ though, I received a 1250$ cash offer on mine and respectfully declined.
It makes sense for the 9s which came out of theme decks to be cheap imo.
quite a few shadowless 9s tonight sold for around 150, guess the cheap days are slowly fading, maybe you should’ve kept this shadowless trend lowkey hehe
You will still be able to find them for lower prices than that. There were obviously a couple people fighting for those cards that really wanted them. That shadowless magneton 9 that went for 150 tonight definitely surprised me. I picked up one for $65 on auction just recently so I think you can still hunt down much better deals. I also saw a shadowless ninetales 9 that went for $81 recently so they fluctuate a lot considering tonight it brought $152.
Magneton has historical sales of 130-140, so it wasn’t too surprising, just merely on the higher end. 65 is an incredible steal as I was valuing them currently at around 100. I know people on social media that are willing to drop 110-120 for 9s like magneton/ninetales/poliwrath so there is definately demand for those higher price points. But yeah as with anything, if you do you due diligence, you can hunt down cheap deals, sometimes its all about patience
I was watching these cards as well. I don’t understand why the Poliwrath sold for $162 when there are multiple cheaper buy it now options.
Sometimes things simply don’t make sense on ebay.
I remember buying a card for $399 and a couple weeks later the same card sold for $799.
Speaking of 9s, @cullers got something like $400 for a Machamp. It was averaging 180-200 at the time. Now they’re down to like $125. lol
