Shipping from Japan to USA -- is it still happening?

I’m curious how those of you in the United States are getting product shipped to you from Japan. As we all know, Japan Post is offering very limited service to the USA nowadays.

Are couriers such as DHL and FedEx now the favored methods? Japan Post Surface Mail? Something else?

I’ve been using UPS and FedEx to get my ZenMarket packages for the past nine months and I get my packages in two to four days from the time it is shipped. Don’t plan on changing even if Japan Post goes back to normal.

Fedex is the best right now and from what I’ve gotten from ebay especially comes very fast when its through Fedex. I bought something on the 5th and it came to Texas on the 8th which blew my mind.

I’ve had numerous packages delivered to Canada within 48-72hrs via FedEx with no issues.
On the other hand, I currently have 4 packages sent via DHL being held hostage by a third party because DHL tends to subcontract their fulfillment.

Been ordering lots of Celebi s-p/175 promo from multiple sellers and received everything fine, no delays either. Fedex, DHL, and Japan Post.

Thanks, everyone, for your feedback. I really appreciate it!

I ship standard JP post, but I typically only send things in a bubble mailer or plain white envelope so air mail is still accepted for those. If I have to ship using a larger package, I would probably use DHL or EMS.

I use fedex on NeoKyo. Usually takes a week.

I have sent a couple things recently with KuroNeko.
Nice to hear that EMS might be returning soon

This is to the UK, but over the last week or so I’ve noticed a slowdown with AIR postage, with packages getting stuck at the ‘posting/collection’ stage for 5-6 days. So far it’s only been 4 packages, but I saw a post on fromjapan’s website saying that there has been a “dramatic decrease in international flights”.

Also Japan Post today announced that EMS to the US will resume from the 1st of June,

If you’re getting a bunch of things in the mail at once, a lot of people have turned to DHL for their quick turnover times and consistent shipping (despite their high prices).

right now DHL has been the go to for my importing needs of figures and some cards but surface mail has opened up recently so I have been going on that route. I did hear EMS is going to open back in june 1st but also prices have increased for it

Ive been using DHL exclusively with my yahoo japan/buyee purchases. Its a bit more expensive than fedex but i have faith in the DHL driver opposed to the fedex driver for my route. DHL guy knows to always leave my package with me at the door or he takes it back to the depot, where-as the fedex driver will leave it outside

I’m now noticing more extended wait times once items from Japan arrive at the ISC in New York.

Anyone else experiencing the same thing?

I’m in Louisiana, no changes for me :+1:t4::+1:t4:

Anyone missing DHL or Fedex options for those in the US for Buyee? I no longer see them as shipping options.

They renamed buyee air delivery. It shipped via FedEx or DHL but it’s random for which courier and you can’t specify which one.

Damn. At least it’s either or instead of neither. Just glad I got my heaviest stuff earlier whereas this is just peanuts I’ve been standing on for months. Thanks for the intel!
