Shipping to Canada

Hi everyone, just a super quick question. I tried searching and found a lot of threads about Canada to the US but not the other way around.

I’m new to selling, and had someone contact me on ebay about shipping to Canada. He prefers a tracked package (makes sense, international with big shipping delays). When I look on the USPS website the cheapest I find is $26.90…does that sound right? That’s for a priority flat rate envelope. Does anyone know a cheaper way to ship internationally with a tracking number?

Shipping to and from Canada can be really costly, that’s probably about the correct price make sure there’s no wasted space in the bubble mailer or box you’re shipping in to save as much as possible for you and the buyer. I would suggest trying goshippo / shippo they have given me the best rates so far for shipping from Canada to the US. Hope this helps shed some light.

sell through gsp and save yourself a headache.
GSP is tracked if you pay for tracking.

What about registered first class mail international. I believe it might be closer to $16?

I am not 100% in the know about this, given that I am a Canadian collector who naturally cannot ship USPS, and I have been out of the game for a while. But I have received countless packages with this service in the more remote past. At the time it cost about $13. All included delivery confirmation, and I believe most also had tracking. I was almost always able to track items coming to me.

There has to be more realistic options for lower valued items, that still offer protection to both parties. I hope others can weigh in.

GSP will end up costing more money since they auto collect import fees. It’s best to just charge a flat 26$ or something and leave custom fees up to us Canadians.
But that is my personal opinion and it does depend on the price of the package.

Shipping via eBay international first class starts at $10 to Canada I believe but it depends on weight. If you are just sending a card this may be your best bet depending on the value.

You can get it done for under $12 if its just a .5” thick and normal size bubble mailer. Priority box costs more, and GSP cost more.

If you want to ship in a box ship with a small unmarked box and it might be $15-18

Thanks so much for the info everybody. Ebay’s $10 international was the lowest shipping I could find, yikes.

Try using simple export rate on a website called “pirate ship.” It’s super easy and pretty cheap. I shipped a 2 lb package for 13 dollars to Canada recently.

And honestly if it’s a cheap single just use an international stamp.

USPS first class international package is usually $12-15 for me from the USA to Canada. It’s tracked as well
