Should I grade my base set Charizard?

ey

(base) Charizard = money. Always
Graded (base) charizard = more money. Always

It will take some time (over 8 months most likely) for you to get the card back from psa if you decide to get it graded.
As for approximate value, I would not know since the picture does not seem to load, so I cant see the condition.

Just checked the pictures, and it looks pretty good, should be an 8 if the holo looks fine. 9 on a good day, which means good money!

I would grade it!

I actually think it’s a 6/7/8 depending on that spot at the bottom.

I think I see an area on the bottom that is a slight bend/wrinkle or could be a dent on the back that’s visible to the front. I have a shadowless zard with the same thing. It’s an amazingly clean card though.

Edit. It could also just be the way the light hits it. In that case it’s 8 Ish I would think!

Yes. But first put it in a sleeve, and never put an unsleeved card into a card saver or top loader.

It depends on what your goal is. Get some cash for your cards as soon as possible? Maximize potential profit? Enjoy the cards you anyway have?

Prices are at an all time high now. They may go up, they may go down, no one can say for certain.

PSA wait times are quite long now. Only you can decide if you risk waiting half a year or longer to potentially maximize profit from selling the card.

Yes you should

This is sometimes the case on other cards, but not Charizard. Lower demand cards and cheap cards grading can be a waste of time and money if they are lower. There is an established demand/price for all grades of Charizard. This one looks pretty nice as well

Yeah, I would say for a lot of cards, getting a PSA 8 or above, is always a win in my book.

And don’t worry about it decreasing in value while you get it graded. It’s a base Zard. Sure, it can go down a little, but nowhere near the amount you would even raise a brow in concern over in the long run, the proportion of value increase in grading and slabbing against the raw value. 100%

Yup! Hope you get 8 or higher!

It sounds like you don’t give a shit about pokemon and just want to maximize your potential profit, yes? The answer is yes, grade it first. You’ll have some time between now and then to do your own homework on if it’s a good time to sell or hold based on sales analytics between now and then.

I would grade it for sure. Adds value, authenticity and protection of your childhood sentimental card. All wins from raw.
