Show Off Your Ink!

Tattoos are becoming the “norm” nowadays and I feel like they make each person even more unique. They “raise your value” so to speak  lol.

It would be awesome to see all the artwork my fellow Pokemon collectors have acquired over the years! Post your pictures!

These are mine. Im hoping to finish up my sleeve in a year or so (not looking forward to the elbow though… Lol)
p.s if you reside in Southern California, I highly recommended Jeremiah Barba! He did my back and arm piece. Great work, great guy.

Dear god Jeremy, those are insane! I’m always amazed when I see Pokemon collectors with crazy tattoos (the1whoknocks89 has some cool ones) as it’s always a little bit of a shocker to see someone who could easily pass for a biker gang member collecting good old Pokemon cards.

I totally understand that I’m stereotyping here, and I personally think it’s cool to have so many different types of people into this hobby. When someone says “Pokemon card collector” I don’t think anyone thinks of a ripped dude with skull and snake tattoos and a half sleeve. Tease me about my hobby now, don’t ya.

As for ink myself, I don’t got none. Just turned 18 so maybe that will be changing. The idea that has stuck with me the longest is probably a half maple leaf/half star on my shoulder. I’m a dual citizen of the US and Canada, which I think is really cool and gives me sort of a duty to understand both cultures.

Haha thanks man!
biker gang member on the outside, nerdy derp on the inside  haha

i mi got my arm and chest piece right when I turned 18 and my back piece this year (21). Once you get one, you gotta have more. Like most things, it’s addicting haha ;p

sick ink dude. Always thought about getting a shoulder piece done but i like wearing singlets and it wouldnt exactly be viewed as “positive” working in a school.

Thanks man.
What they can’t see doesn’t hurt ;p

Times like these when we need @djgigabyte to check in once in a while.

He’s got a full leg tattoo of rare Pokemon card art with a couple other hobby icons mixed in.

Wow that would be awesome to see!

Stole some pictures of Dan’s leg off FaceBook. It has to be shown. Also asked him to post. Hopefully he has some good extra shots he can add and responds.

Love the color!!

Looks like a mix of Yu-Gi-Oh and Pokemon on @djgigabyte 's leg!

I see…prerelease Raichu, Base set Zard, University Karp, Trophy Kangaskhan, Illustrator, No. 1 Trainer…wow, very well done

I believe there is some Magic: The Gathering in there as well. The Big Three TCGs. Or if there isn’t, there should be since that’s all Dan plays these days.

When I was in my early 20s I was in a popular motorcycle group in California and EVERYBODY had tats and piercings. All the girls and guys. Being the non conformist that I am I decided then to NEVER get a tattoo or piercing and to never allow any of my kids to get them either lol.
I didnt want to follow the crowd. Plus I figured it would look funky as my skin aged. That one I was right about cause I’ve seen many of my old cohorts recently and, let’s just say, it’s not pretty;)

Haha…good one Jeremy.
But remember, human skin is the same;)

It is the same. But.

Old skin is old skin and just as undesirable as old tattoo’d skin yeah?

I’d rather be old, wrinkly, and colorful than just be old and wrinkly
;D

Pretty dam awesome, I love the skull / viper the most.

I’m a fan of tattoo’s, but my family would kill me if I got one! I go to many hardcore music events, metal, deathcore, scream-o, emo etc… most people have tat’s except me >.<

If I did do it, I would go all out for my body and arms; and design my own work; as I have an art background. But always in the back of my mind is what Gary mentioned, aged skinned…

FOr me the main reasons I don’t do it:

  1. Corporate work environment
  2. Aging skin
  3. Family would be super pissed off

Definitely admire your tattoos though man, very epic, and jelly.

I agree completely. I only have 4 tattoos, definitely time for more ink!

I know tattoos are very personal, but may I ask why your family would be disappointed?

Maybe Gary has an opinion on this also…

haha… it is tough to explain, I don’t really want to go into it.

Mixture of religion / family value’s / society’s perception and stigma of tattoos

Family is also against young guys dying hair…
