Some Compiled Goldstar Data sales and pops

Hi everyone, I’m a recent join to e4 and the pokemon community! I’m really enjoying reading all of your posts and thought I could contribute on one! One of the sets that caught my eye since joining was Goldstars! The low pop was super unique to me and to help myself analyze it I compiled some data into this excel table. A lot of the PSA 10 sales are unknown as I couldn’t find any recent sales but the lower grades (9 and 8) seem to provide a more consistent upwards trajectory.

I hope this information helps some of you!

Welcome :blush: Overviews are always a good thing! Can confirm that the Regis are off. Torchic is notorious for its low pop though

there was a gyarados psa 10 that sold for over 6k a few months ago on ebay. uk listing, but the equivalent US was over 6k. i’ll try to find the listing if i can.

on a side note, i particularly think the gold star charizard, mew and gyarados are the best art out of any of the sets for those respective pokemon.

I’m surprised how low Mew’s PSA 10 price is, given its relatively low POP and popularity.

Many of OP’s prices are pretty outdated (not saying this to slight OP – this is just objectively the case). A PSA 10 Mew sold for $4350 on eBay last month – $3000 is wayyyyy lower than one would sell for now.

But yes, I agree that, relative to other cards in this market, $3000 for a PSA 10 Mew gold star would be super low.

@nikhil, thanks for this! I guess you could slowly update the sheet based on the feedback here - anyway, Rayquaza PSA 10 prices will probably always be wrong as once you reach a certain dollar amount, it gets harder to just pay cash upfront. Sure, you see that with trophy collectors, but I feel that Rayquaza gold star appeals to your average consumer whereas trophy cards can be quite inaccessible even if you’ve got the cash

Can confirm, the recently sold psa 9 gold star latios price is 100% accurate. I’m the one who bought it.

Hey there. Love the idea of this. Some comments though. Your PSA 10 regi- pop numbers are way off as some have pointed out. Also for the regis are your PSA 10 prices actually PSA 9 prices? Those PSA 10 prices are way wrong in any case. I’m shocked if PSA 10 gold star umbreon sold for $5k. A 9 sold for over 3k last month in an auction (it was mine via PWCC).

The gold star latios price listed here was for a card that looked damaged inside the PSA case. Previous auction price had been higher. And the zard price is also higher now in private sales I believe.
