Curious to know if e4 members would like a stockX equivalent.
elaborate?
no
The stockX equivalent is stockX and nobody uses it
It’s a consignment website for sneakers, handbags, and watches that have had exclusive releases. The website tracks prices over time. Think PWCC meets Pokemonprice.com
… but they do pokemon already
If someone could do something like MySlabs but for Pokemon then it’d be great. Basically like eBay but only 1% + PayPal G&S fees.
… myslabs also does pokemon haha
But it’s like littered with sports cards for the majority of the site
Would want one with Pokemon focus only PLUS an auction feature. Then everyone can save on fees while having PayPal protection.

true but I mean the platform exists, if more of you use it it can be littered with pokemon!
But yes, we’d all like lower fee outlets to buy/sell cards on. Ebay feels egregious
StockX is killer for Canadians. Taxes and duties are about 20% of purchase price
I think it would be nice to have a site like that based around Pokémon where you can select a set like on PokemonPrice.com. But other marketplace sites/apps are already so well established I feel it’s going to be hard to get people to sell through you. The only reason people pay the crazy eBay fees is because eBay has so many users that it’s the quickest and most likely way to get a sale. And would you be able to offer support and buyer/seller protection etc. Seems like a lot of risk and effort to make such a site, but I’d be willing to try it if it was made.
I purchased a psa 8 1st edition shadowless zard from stock x back in May. When the item was shipped to stock x, it was not authentic so they refunded me. I was not happy because I was getting it for around 3500 (they spiked up to 5-6 real fast around that time). So I’m not sure if the seller k ew that or what but at least I was refunded.
The issue you face is that ebay has the monopoly and always will I think. As a seller you want to have your item viewed by as many people as possible and ebay provides that better than anyone else.
Em, no

I bought one in may for $5,700, that $3,500 price tag was a red flag right off the bat

I just purchased a Flashfire booster box for $1500 (since eBay is at $2k I think) but now I’m worried as well. Especially with the resealed / fake booster boxes. I’m yet to receive it and it’s on its way to stockx for “authentication”. The problem on stockx is you can’t who the seller is and their feedback and a company that is focused on sneakers can’t be trusted for Pokémon. I hope I didn’t get scammed.

I’m sure their pokemon authentication process for sealed product is just fine. If it’s not authentic, I’m still sure you could send it back.

Yeah but there was a huge spike around then I remember and I thought i was getting one of the last ones at that price. A week or so later it was at $6k when I purchased another on FB lol

I used to do sneakers a while back and in that community I have heard a lot of horror stories of receiving fakes from stockx. Whatever checks it goes through there is not good enough. And if they can’t get authentication right for their main expertise, I have serious doubts about anything else like Pokémon. And even with knowing this i still went ahead with it as it was saving me $500 and I just wanted to see how the process is for Pokémon. But take stockx authentication with a grain of salt. Graded cards should be fine though
