Strange Fake Card?

Someone did a good job stamping a jungle symbol on this. Thought this was one of the strangest fake cards I’ve come across:

www.ebay.com/itm/Misprint-1st-Edition-Charmeleon-Super-Rare/173946020449?hash=item287ffda261:g:NqwAAOSw3dtdFDAO

Looks like the entire card is fake, not just the jungle symbol

Any chance whatsoever this is not fake? That stamp looks spot freakin on (at least from the eye on a eBay picture). Were jungle and base set cards being printed simultaneously as to where maybe some random 1st edition sheet that somehow got left over ended up accidentally getting jungle stamped?

ive seen pictures of cards like this before and i feel like its always a shadowless charmeleon lol doesnt mean its real though

Not a chance. Shadowless print cards ran out well before Jungle began it’s print…

I have a shoebox of fake cards I’d saved from buying collections over the years, including some funny ones. 1st ed. Shadowless with a Base set 2 stamp and 1st ed. stamped unlimited base, for example.

That’s a clever idea, I wish I’d have done that! Is the base 2 stamp done well?

I haven’t looked at them in awhile, but if I remember right it’s not very convincing in person, even at a glance. I suppose the fake 1st ed. Base unlimited card is more convincing looking. There’s a photo I posted of that one on here somewhere, and in that photograph it might appear that it’s genuine but in person they’re easy to separate from authentic cards.

I’ve got a small but growing collection of amusing fake cards as well, including these! If you care to get rid of any of your fakies let me know, I enjoy collecting them actually and would love to buy, ironically haha.

Look at the back pic. 1000% fake

If you want to better understand fake cards, I suggest getting a hold of some for reference. Through the past few years as I have bought up collections, I’ve found a few hundred of them and have put them aside in a box. The color and the quality of the print is a dead giveaway. The biggest giveaway from these pictures is the back of the card which is slightly blurry in the printing. Take a real card and compare the backs and you will see how crisp and clear the printing is.
I have fake cards from just about every era and every card is off. There were some really good EX era fakes but once you actually hold those cards, you can feel the quality of card stock.
