Submitting psa with toploader

Im living in the uk and to be honest it’s kinda hard find cardsavers t. Is it fine sending card in toploader? i know the card moves but it’s a risk i’ll take for this time. Everybody is saying that i can’t submit in toploader as they will refuse to grade them. i wrote to psa and they responded me :

hello,

Yes, you can submit cards in top loaders or one touch magnetic holders. We ask you not submit screwdown cases though.

If you have additional questions please call 800-325-1121 or visit our website at psacard.com.

Thank you

But people ( reddit) keep saying they will no accept it or they will charge me for this. do u have any experience with it?

It’s fine. I would expect some cards to get there potentially with issues though after such a long trip and a high risk of poking out of the penny sleeve at some point.

@pokeaddict84,i’ll try to bubblewrap the toploaders so there is no room for card to slip out. tbh in toploader card doesn’t seem to move (tried to shake toploader but it doesnt seem to move), just wanted to be sure psa accept it xD

Well if PSA customer service said it’s okay then I would just ignore the people on reddit lol

I was always under the assumption they would NEVER accept cards in toploaders so this is nice to know haha

Hey mate, I’m in the UK and send to PSA using gradedgem. I send to them in a toploader and they then place them into card saver 1s before sending on to PSA. Could not recommend them more. Card savers are difficult to get in the UK.

Ultra Pro Semi Rigid are a viable and more common available alternative in Europe.

@pokemike102, what is the turnaround time?

@genosha, so this www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Semi-Rigid-Card-Holder-3-x-4-5-inches-50-pack/233615574965?hash=item366492c7b5:g:~TAAAOSw-1JdMZmf should be fine?

Who knows anymore, they used to offer a regular service which was about 2-3 months and a fast service which was 1-2. Since Corona though with PSA closing they will have a backlog to clear and then the market expanding and more people sending in I’m not going to set my explications high. I’m assuming I won’t get my returns for this month back till the end of the year. That’s just PSA though, no matter who you go through in the UK.

Never seen this brand so don’t know.
But Ultra Pro semi rigid are really nice. And since Ultra Pro sells their entire catalog in Europe you should be able to get them. Sadly, I think also due to covid-19, supplies are limited and they been sold out everywhere I usually order them for months now. Contact your local shop, or website you frequently buy product and see if they can get their hands on them. All big European distributors have Ultra Pro product.

Since you live in the UK, another option is to ship through Ludkins Collectibles, whom are located in the UK. I live in Europe myself (The Netherlands) and use Ludkins Collectibles every time I want to send to PSA, and they accept Toploaders and will replace them with Card Savers. Although I usually just send a couple of cards, so if you plan on sending hundreds of cards it might be cheaper to send directly through PSA through their bulk option.
