SV49 PSA 10 upcharge

Hey yall, im expecting an upcharge from PSA for the shiny zard. Ive heard they started slappin people with the upcharges, but i cant find any information as to how much theyre charging people. I Cant navigate PSA’s website and i dont want to bother my grading Middleman provider when theres a good chance someone here has the information im after.
Thanks

Nobody knows what you paid to submit it to calculate the upcharge. Here are their fees and the value is easy to find.

@gottaketchumall, does PSA tell you what they have declared the card’s graded value to be, or just give you the up charge amount (which I assume is just the difference between what one paid and the corresponding new declared value fee)? Obviously you can infer the range of the declared amount from the fee, but do they state a number of what they believe the new value to be?

I’ve only had up charges through a middleman so far. I was not told what they valued the card at. I expect to have some through a direct submission that is currently there, so I’ll check back in mid 2021 with the results.

I think I paid like 10 dollar upcharge when I subbed some. Total price to grade was then 19.50 on bulk submission.

Edit: Worth noting this was through a middleman service.

sounds like we may find out about the same time then!

I submitted via ludkins so i thinl it went bulk?

Ludkins has a results deal that lowers the cost of upcharge fees, so heads up that you guys won’t be able to reverse engineer it the way you would figuring out fees direct.

Do you have a guestimate as to the fee i may see for a psa 10 sv49 i subbed at the 45 day service

Been getting $50 fees on them (when they catch them).

Here’s the email I got when I had an upcharge for a Kobe Bryant Chrome Topps Rookie card. I submitted 15 cards using the Platinum Membership free vouchers. The highest declared value for these vouchers is equivalent to the economy level, i.e. $499. My Topps Chrome Kobe rookie card got a PSA 9. At the time, this was selling for around $1000 as of April of this year. They attached a spreadsheet and they credited me back one of my vouchers, then gave me a total of charges, which was $50 for the grade at the regular level (Max value $999) and then the $35 shipping fee, which I already knew about when I submitted my 15 cards. That’s how he came to the $85:

Good evening Mr. [Teraz] (real last name redacted),

I am writing on behalf of PSA regarding submission # 10203967 (attached). This submission contains 1 card that does not qualify for the voucher due to its value. We understand that you had no way of knowing the grades; however, when the value does exceed the value limit for the fee you originally selected, we must make the proper adjustments.

Please see the attached printout of your submission with the correct fees noted in the right column. You will be able to use the voucher on one card in a future order before the voucher expires.

In order to complete the process, I will need your approval to charge the correct amount of $85. Please reply to this email at your convenience.

Thank you,

Greg

Now, I’m curious what PSA would do if somebody submitted a large submission (say 30+ cards) with many cards exceeding the value limit of bulk. Do they just cancel that sub all together or offer the customer the upgraded service? Could definitely be a gray area in an unstable market.
