Aside from Ogerpon, Kitakami was a pretty bland DLC Pokemon wise, but the characters were amazing. looking forward to that aspect moreso than the potential Pokemon SARs. However, as with all of the SV era, it doesn’t matter what the mascots are anymore, because of ARs. There is always a chance that a favorite illustrator or Pokemon could get a special art.
I’m thinking this is the point where TPC not only covers the remaining non-Paradox mons from the DLC, but also branches to other lesser known mons suited for the lunar theme. For example, Midnight Form Lycanroc has just been teased for next week’s Pokémon Horizons episode
but yeah agreed. they still need to introduce these mons into the tcg, and i guess this is better than just throwing them into another set and having them be less memorable. I guess i’m just eager for the big mons from DLC 1/2 (Pon/Terapagos)
I think the thing that makes it feel so weird is how they pushed the paradox trios forward to coincide with the release of Walking Wake and Iron Leaves despite them being DLC 2 additions (whereas WW/IL were introduced early last year as catchable raids)
Probably more cohesive to have all Paradox mons for the two dual sets before moving on to other DLC mascots, TPC’s logic always has me guessing. As a result we’re not getting another dual set before Worlds 2024
there are a few hisui mons scattered between both DLCs. hopefully they appear in the TCG through these next few sets and we can get stuff like an AR of h-basculegion
I like that the SV block is letting all the new SV Pokémon shine. I feel like Gens 6, 7 and 8 all tended to highlight older Pokémon and set identity suffered from it.
Idk. I like the normal ex cards for Iron Thorns. There’s a cool one coming up in temporal forces too.
My bad it’s just a regular card, not even ex.
Still looks cool though like mecha godzilla. I haven’t seen what the holo/reverse holos look like in this set. Maybe a cool card to add on that <$5 pile. Probably <$1 when all is said and done.
This is the first pokemon card to feature an actual Wailord as a cameo.
And also the first card that really shows Wailmer and Wailord as living in large pods.
Will definitvely pick this one up in all languages.
browsing their socials and came across their site. looks like their first solo exhibition was 2010, so they’ve been an acclaimed painter for at least 14 years.
I had this feeling looking at their cards with so much detail. As someone who tried painting for a few years, I can say it takes A LONG time to get to the point where you can put in so much detail while preserving proportions in size, tone, lighting, etc.
One of the more exciting new additions to the TCG. I for one hope to see one of my favorite mons get a card by them.
