These will probably go fast at this price. Target has the Blastoise Tin (the newer one with Evo packs) for $8.91. Buy 12 and get $25 off. Ships free. Total will be around $86 for 48 packs of cards (12 tins). Won’t find a much better deal than that anywhere!
@desi - The new ones have generations, which will almost certainly be the case with these. The old stock contained FlashFire but the reprint period is over for that set, so any new stock being sold by large retailers such as these replaces it with Evolutions.
Probably the best deal you’ll ever get, honestly. These prices are significantly below what stores can buy these for. Not sure what Target’s doing, to be honest.
Target is probably not making a huge profit on these - something that just drives traffic to them. However, I highly doubt they are selling these below cost! Being such a massive corporation, I would imagine they get a pretty steep discount on these.
Even so, with shipping accounted for I suspect they’re at the absolute most breaking even. They’ve got so many costs to account for and the margin is unimaginably slim.
I understand the draw factor and all that good stuff, but this is beyond what’s necessary to even pull that off. This tin sale wasn’t even really advertised.
I think they should honor them I bought a couple 12 packs of them last time they were in stock (but without the additional $25 off). Got them all in. And that’s how I knew they were all the newer repacks with the Evo cards.
The batch they just listed did mention slower shipping, so they may take a little longer to come in.
I honestly think it’s a price mistake as they haven’t sold the Charizard or Venusaur Best of tins at the same price. Haven’t tried to scan one in the store to see what happens but I’d imagine it’ll ring up $18 or $20.
Right. Somewhere along the line something isn’t quite right. Maybe overstock. Maybe poor strategy. Perhaps a legitimate mistake. But we aren’t witnessing a replicable event.
A lot of these deals their focus is not to make money its more to get people into their website/store expecting you will add other stuff to the cart. Its psychological to be honest lol. The Black Friday tin sale they did, cost me an Xbox One at Target as well as other stuff LOL
I totally, 1000% get the strategy. I just honest-to-God don’t think this matches the vibe I get from those types of sales. This one feels more like some sort of error.
