TCG National Dex

So with the release of Pokémon Home, I’ve been seeing some people on YouTube transfer over their living dex’s from Bank to Home. This got me thinking that it would be cool to make a National Dex out of cards!

You could either pick your favorite card for each pokemon, or you could use the first release of a certain Pokémon for their Dex entry. This would ensure a mix of old school and modern cards. I’m thinking about doing the former and just picking my favorite art of each Pokémon for this project.

I was wondering if anyone here has done this or a similar project before? I figure with how many people are on the forum that someone has. What do you think of this idea? Anything that would be cool that I didn’t mention in regards to a TCG Dex?

Thanks I’m advance! I look forward to hearing your thoughts!

I did national poke order for the first 151 pokemons when I started collecting again back in 2008, and used the first card released for each species

I’m working on a national dex binder. I had it complete but with gen 8 release I now have some work with it again  When I started it I tried to pick my favorite art of the cards I had, but lately I’ve gotten lazy with that as there are so many Pokemon to check. Now it seems to be the first one of the species I get goes to the binder.

Yeah. I was looking last night at the National Dex and there are currently 890 so I could see how trying to find your favorite art for each one could definitely get tiring, especially for those Pokémon with a ton of cards out there.

Here is my National Index collection, including all forms/variations (Gender differences; Mega; Alolan; Shiny; official forms; unofficial forms/errors; cosplay Pokémon; etc.) I will update it with gen 8 as well as the Galarian and Gigantamax Pokémon in the future, but not anytime soon. I’ve spend a bit too much money lately, so want to save up for a while before diving back in.

I thought about using all my favorite artworks at one point, but it would be a bit too expensive. So I still choose my favorites of the ones I already had or multiple affordable choices. For Shiny Pokémon, consisting mostly of Gold Stars, Shining Triple Stars, and such, I mainly just picked the cheapest versions.
I also collect all 14 languages, which you can see in my National Index collection.
