As I’m sure I’m not the only one, I have things I want to collect that I can not afford, but as I tend to collect for display, I would love to get ahold of some wrappers/boxes of the specific things I want to collect.
However, I’m finding that even more impossible to find, any tips on how to search for things like this? searching for boxes just brings up booster boxes with the packs in of course.
also I’d be curious to see if there is others that collect the empty boxes, wrappers, and other things, and how you can know if they are real or not?
I’ve seen empty boxes and pack wrappers from time to time on ebay. Some of them had ridiculous Buy it Nows though.
If you dm me an address I can send you an artset of Secret Wonders of you like.
I wouldn’t say I “collect” empty packaging, but I do save the empty tins, booster boxes and booster pack wrappers from sets I open. It basically just sits in the closet because I don’t have the heart to throw it out!
It probably isn’t too hard to figure out if it’s real, I feel like anyone with fake packaging probably would go the full 9 yards and make fake packs/boxes and sell those for many times more money. But dome basic due diligence will likely help.
In terms of searching for empty packaging to buy, this is one of the purchases where a buy thread here is likely going to be your best bet. Lots of people wouldn’t list their packaging on eBay or are reluctant to sell because it could be used in scams. But if they’re able to help out a fellow collector and know it’s not going to be used for nefarious purposes, I bet people would be more than willing to sell.
That’s very kind of you! but I’m okay
I am really only focused on collecting team aqua/magma related sets. And yeah, I have also seen some wild buy it now’s. I feel like maybe they would sell them to people who would reseal so they feel they can charge more?
beautiful! I feel like the art on the packs is sometimes better than the cards themselves!
definitely nice for display, I need to work out how to display mine in a neat way too
This is going to become more popular with time. The price point between boxes especially will make this more appealing to collectors.
As for collecting packaging myself, I struggle to throw away anything. Outside of brand new modern openings, I keep all the other wrappers. So because I’m a low key hoarder, I’m a packaging collector by default.
Hey everyone, this is ess-emm-pratte, and today we’re gonna take a look at my coconut water packaging collection
No, but seriously, I still have the wrappers from packs and theme deck boxes I opened years ago. I don’t value them as much as other items in my collection, but enough to not want to let them go.
