It’s time for another one boys. Sometimes our favorite content creators do cool stuff, sometimes they do bad stuff, and sometimes they do stuff you just want to talk about. Now we have a dedicated megathread for general content creator/influencer discussion!
Topics appropriate for this thread include, but are not limited to:
A content creator did something interesting.
A non-Pokemon content creator is suddenly getting into Pokemon.
A content creator pulled or purchased a big card.
A content creator is doing a box break or other live Pokemon event.
As noted, the mods may decide a topic is appropriate for this thread and move/remove your content at their discretion. If you are unsure about whether your topic should be posted here or in any other megathread, message a mod and we will get you a clear decision.
IMPORTANT: YOU CANNOT PROMOTE YOUR OWN CONTENT IN THIS THREAD. This is only for discussing things which other content creators do. Attempts to circumvent this rule and use this thread for self-promotion will result in a permanent ban.
The hate towards the “influencers” is funny to me. You don’t like them? Move along to someone else. I rarely watch Pokerev or Leonhart vids, but I sub to them to support wholesome Pokemon fans.
They’re livelihood is to get clicks on their posts, why would they not try to make everything as clickbaity as possible?
The livelihood of hitmen is to kill people, why would they not kill as many people as possible? Just kidding. But just because something is making someone money, it isn’t immune to criticism, obviously.
Sadly “moving on” isn’t quite as easy when your whole YT page gets absolutely plastered with these stupid ass obnoxious ‘shock’ faces after accidentally clicking on one Leonhart video once.
Be more like Scott or Rusty. Super knowledgable, show love for the cards and the community, no clickbait, not trying to push an agenda (“hype beasts”), no stupid thumbnails.
Leonhard for example checks many of these boxes. He would be cool in my books if he’d just be a bit less cringey on the thumbnails and video titles.
The handful of critical people are not the only people in “this community”. You aren’t going to hear from the large section of e4 users that are ambivalent to these youtubers, simply because they don’t care and have nothing to say.
